    My aunt lived at Heartis Buckhead and died October 4th, 2023. The staff was aware, yet inadvertently took Novembers rent ($3400.) from her account. The Executive Dir. called to inform me of their mistake and said they would overnight check back to accountant. They sent the check in her name, which obviously can't be cashed as she is dead. The check was received 12/14/23 (over a month after they took it) Her accountant returned the check with a note stating it needed to be made out to her Trust. We never received it so I went there on Feb. 13th and spoke to *****, the ***** *** Dir. and was told she would contact me THAT night with the plan and that they would OVERNIGHT" check, once written. On Feb. 15th, after not hearing from her, I sent an email, which she responded to and she again promised to contact me THAT day with the plan once she spoke to her team in **********. I received an email Feb. 18th stating refund has been reissued to the Trust and would be sent to my son, the Executor of the estate. On Feb 23, still no check, so I sent ANOTHER email and she has ignored it. Today, almost 4 months since they mistakenly took rent.....still no refund!!! They need to pay us interest and the Estate has not been able to settle until that check is received, which I explained to ***** when I went there on February 13. There are MANY complaints from residents there about the way the business is run, you can ask ANY resident!! The E.D. ******** has turned over twice since my aunt went in May 2023. You may want to investigate!!
