I purchased a 2019 Toyota Camry from AutoNation Toyota - Mall of Georgia. At the time I purchased the car, I had no idea that portions of the car had a plastic coating on it known as a "paint shield". This faulty plastic coating is on the hood, door handles and mirror. The plastic is now peeling up as shown in one of the photos, and spots have appeared under it everywhere it is on my car. I first brought this to the attention of *************************, Service Manager of Riverside Toyota (**** **). ****************** told me to call Toyota. I talked with ******* with Toyota on 12.10.21. He said the finish is still under warranty. ****************** called me back and told to take my car to the dealer I purchased it, AutoNation Toyota. He also told me that the paint shield was put on the car by Southeast Toyota Distributors, and that AutoNation should be able to resolve my situation. I brought my car to AutoNation on 12.14.21 and expected that I would leave my car there and that it would be fixed. ***************, Service Mgr said he took photos and sent them to Toyota and that he would contact me. ********** confirmed that my finishes are under warranty, but that this was "environmental" (he explained this meant that my car is dirty) so he would have to call Toyota to discuss this with them and he would call me ASAP. I cannot properly clean my car because spots on the hood are underneath the coating, and the plastic coating has a dark outline on it wherever it was placed. I called Toyota again on 12.16.21 and talked with El. She told me to take photos and file a claim on the Toyota web site. I did this on 12.17.21 (Claim # ******-000068 ). I received an email notification that Toyota would be back in touch with me within 48 hours. I have not heard back from Toyota or *************** at AutoNation with a satisfactory resolution.. The paint finish is getting worse because of the plastic shield and there is no way to clean my car. No one wants to take responsibility and resolve this defect.

Customer has an appointment 1/10 @ 11 with our service manager to have vehicle inspected.

We will update case after customer visit and response from ********************** regarding the warranty o this item and if They will cover it. As a Toyota retailer, we have to follow Toyota's warranty guidelines and we do refer to them for approvals on any warranty claim.

Worst car dealership experience I have ever had. I am a disabled veteran and they never asked in order to give me the proper discount from the state. I went with paperwork back in July and it still hasn't been sent to the state. I have called numerous times and no one will return a call. This dealership is full of disrespectful people and fail to care about the customer after the purchase. I would not recommend them to anyone looking to purchase or get service. I actually drive down the road to Beaver Toyota now because of this dealerships failures.

I presented to the AutoNation Mall of Georgia location today to purchase a used vehicle. I intended to offer my vehicle as trade-in. When the sales person pulled up the Carfax auto report, it showed not one but two odometer discrepancies. The first odometer discrepancy occurred on May 28, 2014. The truck was serviced at AutoNation ****** Georgia on that date and the odometer reading was incorrectly entered by the technician. This removed approximately ****** miles from the odometer reading. Several months later on February 17 of 2015 the vehicle was again serviced at AutoNation ****** Georgia. During this service the technician entered the odometer reading with approximately ****** less miles than accurate. Today I was told that my vehicle is worth $3000 or less because the odometer reading is in accurate or has been altered according to Carfax. Ironically both incorrect entries into the Carfax report occurred at autoNation ****** Georgia. The incorrect entries both occurring at the same service provider have devalued my vehicle buy as much as $10-$15,000. I'm not certain what the real numbers should have been during those service visits but above each visit the record should have been entered correctly or near correctly so that my value has not decreased on my vehicle. I have left a message with *********************** the service manager and anticipate a callback but have yet to receive it.If I am not able to get this resolved without legal intervention, I may have to seek legal guidance.

Based on the Carfax report, the odometer discrepancy was not our dealership's error as it is also inn line with the mileage reported by GA emissions when the vehicle was being registered in the state of GA.

We have opened a case with Carfax to review and correct this discrepancy. Please attached picture of Carfax update on case.
