I have been a member of Max Fitness since 20**. The instructors and trainers are great and get a 5 star review however management has absolutely no business ethics. I joined Push, the add on class back in 2016 I think it was when they first added the class. When I tried to cancel it in 2024, well past my contract term, they wanted me to pay a $100.00 cancellation fee which is a fee I agreed to pay if I cancelled before my contract term expired. That was not the case. I called and told them based on the contract that I was exempt from the cancellation fee. The only way to cancel online was by checking the box that you are paying the fee which I refused to do. I asked for a copy of my contract which they couldn't provide and now their website isn't interactive and you can no longer submit forms. In addition, when looking at my profile, it no longer shows that I was a member of the push class and my push class history has been deleted so it doesn't show when I started taking the class. Luckily I took screenshots a while back when I saw this was going to be a problem. Long story short, they have turned me over to a collection agency and now I'm having to get an attorney to get this cleaned up. This is extremely disappointing because of the length of time that I have been a member. (** years) They do not honor their contract cancellaton policies. Cash upfront is the only way to safely have a gym membership at Max Fitness in Columbus, GA.

Max Fitness in Columbus Georgia practices predatory and fraudulent business behavior. The management staff is extremely unprofessional. We are currently going through their “cancellation process” which is absolutely absurd and down right criminal. We have been members for 3 years, we only signed an 18 month contract. We provided our 30 day notice to cancel and now we are being harassed for more money. We receive notices by the management team to pay our “back dues” which are supposed to be with collections. We called the number provided, a law firm that denies having anything to do with max fitness. The management team is now trying to charge us a yearly Member fee after we cancelled!!! This is the most unprofessional gym I have ever come across.

Max fitness is fraudulent business. They constantly charge my card weird fees; IE $50 ANNUAL FEE, 2 months after signing up for the gym! They have weird and expensive cancellation procedures that you will be roughly be charged over $500 by the time you have finally canceled your contract. I signed up to receive personal training but the personal trainer & direct refused to make a schedule or provide me with a schedule for personal training. When I explained to them that I want to cancel because they refused to provide me with proper services, they told me I have to wait and entire month before I can cancel but I will be charge within that time period even though I’m not being trained or given a training schedule by a personal trainer. Oh…. Wait I told them I needed to talk to cooperate & they told me that there is no cooperate & the highest I can go is the general Manager (which is who I was constantly going back & worth with)

A+???????????? Try to cancel your membership Max Fitness makes cancellations so difficult, by the time we as customers get the situation resolved, Mac Fitness has charged me membership fees twice I emailed 5/8/23 One fills out a form, submits, and is informed it will take another 30 days. Which means another payment for nothing I am 70 yrs old now, and cannot afford the lost money and I’m not physically able to work out anymore I have read the reviews and they all state the same complaint as I . Next step is Class Action Lawsuit Trust me, I am a widower and I can afford to make Max Fitness Pay for duping people . It’s not about the money for me I have plenty . It’s the principal of the strong (big Companies) taking from the weak. Disgusting human beings in my opinion Thanks , Sorry for rambling on Wanda G***

I never signed up for this gym. I checked my credit, and see that I owe this gym $1000. Once again, I never went, and when I tried resolving the issue, nothing.
