I'll tell my vehicle to Anthony for a water pump issue. I paid him $800. Immediately after getting the car back I could tell that the car was not the same and not for the better. Within days there was water leaking under the car so I decided to take the car back. Anthony swore that there was nothing wrong and sent me on my way. About a week later my car broke down on the side of the highway and I had it towed right back to Anthony. After Anthony's diagnosis, he told me that I needed a new motor. I was so angry. Why he didn't take me seriously when I told him the issues...I cannot understand it. So Anthony ended up keeping my car for 7 months. I popped up one day to see the car and he seemed very nervous. When I looked inside of my car there was trash and molded pizza in it and I demanded he'd do something about it immediately. So after $3500 and 7 months,I got my car back and within 2 weeks the car failed again. I took it to **** who said it looks as if the water pump was no good and a mechanic telling me I needed another motor. So, I called Anthony to inform him on the status of the car and reminded him of his warranty that stated, "90 days on parts and labor". He has not returned any of my calls or text messages.I have been spending $800 a month Ubering just to and from work because of this. I need help resolving this matter.Business response

Subject: BBB Response
Greetings:
I am writing to respond to the complaint filed by Mrs. ******* ********* on 2/10/25.
Upon initial inspection of Mrs. *********** 2015 vehicle, the mechanical issue was diagnosed as an engine "timing change/water pump failure." Our mechanics addressed the problems promptly, and Mrs. ********* resumed regular driving.
Upon returning weeks later, Mrs. ********* complained of water leaking from the vehicle. After conducting a pressure test, we determined that a cracked coolant reservoir was the cause of the leak and that she should discontinue operation of the car. Despite the warning, Mrs. ********* continued to operate the vehicle, ultimately leading to engine failure. The car was subsequently towed to our location.
Mrs. ********* accurately describes that the car remained on our lot for 7 months. Our lead mechanic suffered an ankle break and was notified that prospective repairs to her vehicle and other similarly situated cars would not resume until the lead mechanic returned to work.
In addition, Mrs. ********* is accurate that her vehicle was vandalized during those 7 months. However, customers are notified via visible signage inside and outside our office that we are "not responsible for vandalism to cars left on the premises."
Despite the notice, and as a good gesture to Mrs. ********** we paid for a third party to detail the interior of Mrs. *********** vehicle before its return to her. She appeared to be satisfied.
Finally, Mrs. ********* purchased a remanufactured engine from a third-party; a warranty covered the engine. Ultimately, that engine and/or one of its components failed. Upon inspection by a third-party inspector commissioned by Mrs. ********** I was informed by Mrs. ********* that an "engine breakdown" was required to determine the cause of the problem.
Further, the third-party engine supplier attributed the problem to a component not covered by the warranty.
Despite Mrs. ********* being indebted for $1250.00 in arrears for labor/parts, we have asked her to return the vehicle to address the continuing issues. She refused, and the fees assessed remain outstanding.
We always strive to provide good customer service to our clients. However, Mrs. ********* has not been willing to comply with our requests.

I have reviewed ** ************************ reply prepared by ****** k. ******. It was full of lies and half truths. I plan to voice my concerns and ensure the facts are communicated truthfully.
While there is a claim of prompt service, ** ************************ own admission is that repairs took 7 months andthat's an unreasonable duration by any standard. ** ********************** attributed the 7-month delay in repairing my car to his mechanics broken ankle-given that a typical broken ankle heels in 6-8 weeks. Yet I have documented proof via text message where ** ********************** references other people working on my vehicle which undermines his justification for keeping my vehicle over half of a year.
** ********************** omitted to mention that I accompanied with my boyfriend ******** (who will serve as a witness) returned to ** ********************** shop multiple occasions following his initial alleged repair of the water pump. We reported to him that the vehicle was not running properly and continued to malfunction. Finally after multiple attempts he was willing to take the time out to do the pressure test. During the pressure test, a hairline stream of water streamed from a pin-prick sized puncture in the reservoir. ** ********************** claimed the stream of water was causing all the issues. I pleaded with him that he would take a deeper look into the matter and see if it could be an issue from the water pump because the car was losing too much water (large puddle sized amounts) for the issue to be the micro sized puncture in the reservoir. He declined to look further and didn't even help me resolve the issue with the reservoir even if he thought that was the case. A couple of days later the car broke down on the highway forcing me to have it towed back to ** ************************ shop. In turn to tell me that the motor had completely failed. This is the beginning of my car's 7-month stay.
** ********************** also stated that I purchased the motor. Which is also a lie. After weeks of having my car and not being touched, I asked ** ********************** if $1,000 would speed up the process and he said yes. ** ********************** purchased the motor from Southern Auto salvage *************) with my money. I have included a screenshot where ** ********************** mentions where he got the motor from. He did not consult with me at all about the motor purchase.
My car's condition-littered with trash and food after months in their care speaks volumes to their blatant neglect and lack of priority given to my vehicle. Yes, there may have been signs of potential vandalism issues but he could have simply secured the car by locking it. The car was not violently broken into and then trash was thrown in it. It was unlocked. When I saw the trash in the car I demanded that he do something about it right then. I watched ********************** clean the car out himself. Maybe ********************** considers himself the third party detailer. When I saw all the trash removed from my car, I then left.
The statement that I owe him $1,250 is also not the truth. I have a screenshots of a $1,000 and a $400 payment via cash app. I have a written receipt from him for $800. And lastly I have a written receipt of $1,330 that he and I both sign that states, "cash on completion of work." He signed it himself and should have a copy of it as well. That same receipt is where he also wrote a 90-day warranty on parts and labor that he refuses to honor.
So, it is me that gave him $3,530 and still has no vehicle to drive. I couldn't drive it after the water pump and I couldn't drive it after the motor was installed yet he has $3,530.
I have uploaded screenshots and photos to prove the facts. A screenshot where ** ************************ states where he got the motor from. In that same screenshot you will see where I state that I am not driving the vehicle. In that same screenshot as well you will see **** the mechanic and his phone number. This is the gentleman who checked ** ************************ work and spoke to ** ********************** directly telling him that there were three bolts missing from the motor and the transmission was not properly reattached. **** the mechanic will also witness to that conversation. I also have a summary from the **** dealership about the condition of the motor that ********************** purchased. A screenshot of ** ************************ stating we will discuss the warranty but his mom was sick (never returned my call). Screenshots of all receipts. Lastly screenshots of ****** reviews of former customers who have had similar experiences even leading to taking him to court.
Also witnesses to conversations ****** ********* (brother), ******** ****** (boyfriend), ***** ********* (my father) all whose information I will give upon request.
********************** stated that he asked me to bring the car back. Never happened. At this point why would I now? I asked him to honor his warranty and he never returned my calls. What scares me is the fact that this man put a woman on the road with a motor not properly installed (missing bolts and a transmission barely hanging on). Not just endangering my and my loved ones lives but also potentially others on the road with me. I am blessed that I have the common sense to stop driving the car when it was overheating. ********************** had already fooled me once and I wasn't going to take the warning sign allow him to fool me the second time.
************************ response is literally unbelievable and an actual shame. One thing that my grandmother taught me is to never lie to two people. Those two people are your doctor and your lawyer. I hope that ** ********************** has not ruined his business relationship with ** ****** k ****** the same way he has ruined his business relationship with me.Initial Complaint

I am writing to file a complaint against a mechanic named Anthony for his lack of response and failure to address the issue with my car. I paid Anthony $900 for a job to repair a water pump that was not done correctly. The vehicle was returned to him on March 4th 2024. He said that he would take care of the situation. However now despite numerous attempts to contact him, he has been avoiding my calls. the rare times that we do hear from him he says he'll call back and does not. This situation has caused significant financial inconveniences for my family as we rely on our car for transportation to work. The fact that Anthony has not fulfilled his obligation to properly repair my car is unacceptable and has put us in a difficult position.I kindly request that the Better Business Bureau intervene and assist in resolving this matter promptly. I need my vehicle fixed and running properly. If Anthony cannot take care of this as HE SAID he could I expect a full refund for the inadequate work done on my car and for the inconvenience and financial burden this has caused my family.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a swift resolution.Sincerely,*********************************
