I am recently divorced and purchased a new home for myself and my children. I was referred by my realtor to Closets by Designs. I called prior to moving into my home and I was met with a representative who came out to do measurements and stated that he would get all the pricing for the project. I was notified of the price and was told that I pay 1/2 upfront to get the job started. A contract was promised and was never delivered. I called several time to follow-up with no success (have emails and txt messages as proof). Each time I reached out to someone from Closets By Design - I received pure unprofessionalism on the other end. I was spoken to with rude manners and was also promised several times to get a call back which never happened. One day I called to speak to a supervisor who initially seems remorseful and apologized for the treatment that I received and also promised he would see to what is going and will call me back and once again - he did not call back (this happened on two separate occasions. I truly feel helpless dealing with this company. After several back and forth, I was promised a install date of 10/3 I took the day off for this to be completed. On 10/2, I was sent a contract over by email to be sign and within a few hours, my installation was cancelled. I was absolutely heart broken and reached my breaking point. I requested a refund as I would no longer like to deal with this company. The reply from the company - "no refunds after three days." I have no clue what they were talking about as I did not have a contract until the day before and I also never signed a contract as It was sent the day before and was not signed but somehow, this company feel like they are entitled to keep my deposit of $2,590.00, To take from a single mom trying to start over again is just disgraceful and this company needs to be ashamed of themselves.

The 1 star is for the friendly installers. I spent $3000 for a closet I can't used unless I go to ********** and purchase closet rods. The rods on my closet are at least 6 ft high I am 5'4. So I spoke with ***** at Closet by Design and he said they could provide 3 more rods for over $200 plus dollars. This is insane and I will file a cade with the BBB. My advise do not use this company!!

Their installers stood on my dryer and damaged it during the install. I would never recommend them and will never consider them again when renovating my home. They did not inform me that they needed to stand on my dryer to do the install. They didn't ask to borrow one of my ladders, even though i was in the house the entire time. They didn't inform me that my dryer was damaged after they obviously warped my dryer. It is no longer usable. Installers name was *****.Some POS from local office called. First words out of his mouth were, "...that's why we have you sign a waiver."Yep. That's what you're dealing with in the ************* area.

Bad experience with Closets by Design from start to finish. When we made our initial consultation appointment, we were clear that we had 4 closets to consider. The consultant, ******, came out on a Saturday morning at 10, and took her time with measuring and providing recommendations, but she was also booked on another consultation that afternoon. At the end of our appointment, we felt rushed and pressured to sign a contract that day (she offered several incentives to get us to sign a contract that day). She was in such a hurry that she neglected to get all the signatures and paperwork completed, which created a hassle later trying to get a credit card run.We reached out to ****** for an adjustment to the design to add a nook for a mop and broom in the kitchen pantry. She told me that there was already a gap between the pantry wall and the cabinet fixture, so it was unneeded. This ended up not being true, the cabinet goes all the way to the wall.We had our original install scheduled for a Wed. I got two calls before, confirming the install (and getting a lecture about having to pay any balance up front or the installer wouldnt start the job). Day of the install, the crew was supposed to be at our house between 12-2, and they were supposed to call before they came. At around 1:45, I hadnt heard anything, so called CbD, and was told the crew was running behind. I was put on hold for about ************************************************************ and said they would have to send out another crew, who would arrive between 4-6 p.m. I had a work thing to go to at 6, so I asked for a reschedule on Friday. Im not sure that anyone was planning to let me know that the installer wasnt going to make the original window if I hadnt called them.I called and texted ****** to follow up, and when she called me back she yelled at me for not being able to shift my after 6 p.m. activity so that the installer could have come on the original day. Pretty unprofessional.

I called the customer service number to schedule a representative to come out to design and estimate 3 closet for a new home. I received a confirmed appointment time. My husband and I took off work to meet them there. We waited 30 minutes before calling. After 30 minutes, we called to see if when we expect someone. Only to discover we didn't have appointment. The representative said that the corporate office (Atlanta) scheduled it and the local office was to have someone call me. However, when I initially call to set the appointment, I received a CONFIRMED email of the scheduled appointment. The local took my number to and said they were contacting the corporate office to see if there was something they could do. 10 minutes later I received an email from corporate (*****) stating that my home was not in a service area and an appointment will not be made. I was extremely upset at this point because as a result of my inconvenience, I didn't even receive a phone call. I felt disregarded and disrespected. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. Closets by Design WILL NOT GET MY MONEY.

Wow to my surprise, they have plenty of complaints. *****, a closet designer, came to home and designed my closet. I was put on a 3 amount payment plan until I reach the total cost of my closet. ***** told me the second payment was to lock me in on the schedule for installation. Before sending my payment, I reached out to her via text to get the date that they were going to come out. She responded by saying she would contact the warehouse and give me a call with the date. She called me saying May 17 was the date. I sent my payment by ***** 3 mins after our call and placed my date in the memo of the Zelle. As May 17 starts to approach, ** preparing my closet, moving my things and realized I had never received a call/text/email confirming a time they would be here. So I texted ***** and asked her about a time and she said she would contact the warehouse and someone would reach out to me. The warehouse left me a voicemail stating that they heard I was ready to get placed on the schedule. So I called back to inform them I already have a date for May 17. A rep name ***** said she had seen no calls from ***** calling in to schedule me, she also said it was no notes in my file confirming the date. I had informed her I had proof of ***** informing me of the date and she asked that I sent my evidence to an email in which I did with screenshots of our texts and call logs showing I had sent my Zelle payment 3 mins after disconnecting and had the date in the memo of the payment. I was transferred to a manger name *****, he informed me that the earliest they could schedule me was May 31, 2 weeks out from my original date. I asked for some sort of credit compensation since now they have inconvenienced me and ***** told me he would be in contact later that day or the following morning. He never called. When I called to follow up, he acted as if he did not know who I was and said he had no notes in the file. Couldn't do a credit or refund! It gets worse but dont book these people

Well , this is another complaint regarding service and charges on a big project . Long story short the sales person modified out drawings and one guest closet space was left out from the project without telling us anything. The master closets were not completed as our original drawings, When I received DOCUSIGN I went ahead and sign without even thinking to check what we discussed few hours before, my big mistake.....project was over $35k and was not completed properly per our request. I trust this company and they messed up everything and still asking for more money for modifications that were supposed to be done at the first time. After installation I realized a difference from my design and when a contacted them they were not aware of what I supposed to have , basically I got screwed by the sales guy and the whole team . This is unacceptable!!! WE were trying to discuss with them and told them to fix the issues and they told us if we want to have all the issues resolved we need to spend another 12K for the modifications. They are ripping off the customers lying them telling them something at the beginning, giving them different prices and they do whatever they want at the installation to benefit them plus they ask to pay everything upfront without customers knowing what service they offer. This company should not be in business because they cheat the customers . We are so upset and it is very frustrating what happened to us . Please take an action with this company Closet by Design, this is not acceptable !!!WE hope this should be elevated and take action on this complaint.DONT EVER DO BUSSINESS WITH THEM !!!

As a former employee, I wouldn't recommend this company to ANYONE. Prices are blown way out of proportion for the material being used. Bogus sales prices make the client believe they're getting a deal or a major discount but not in the slightest. We are told (as employees) that there is a three to six month wait-list which makes the company seem legit right? Wrong! By the time the installers get to a clients home, they usually don't even remember what they designed. To make matters worse, we are required to ask the client for payment before the install (which isn't even legal by the way.) Even going as far as writing down your credit card numbers. If that doesn't raise any red flags, then by all means, waist thousands of dollars on particle board. To say anymore seems like a waist of breath. Don't be dumb. Find another Company

NOT WORTH THE NIGHTMARE INSTALLATION. I had a terrible experience with Closets by Design and spent over $10,000.00. On the day of installation, they forgot our pantry and thankfully I saved all the documents because they denied I ordered it. I had to resend the receipts twice to the office to prove what I had purchased, they didn't come the next day to install the pantry as promised. We had to have our kitchen in disarray until they finally came the 3rd day! The first installer to enter my home wore booties on his shoes. I assumed the remaining workers would do the same so I did not put anything down to protect my childrens' nursery carpet or my master bedroom carpet. Unfortunately, the workers did not wear booties or cover the carpets where they were walking during the install. All day, they walked on our bedroom rugs and made them dirty and grimy. When I called to complain, I was told they should have worn shoe coverings for the install. They asked for photos of my carpets which I sent. I had to have the carpets professionally cleaned by ******* Steamer the next day costing $312. ******************* said to send her the receipt and she would have it reimbursed. 2 weeks go by and I follow-up today - She denies her promise and says it is not her department. ***Do not deal with this company. They do not follow professional standards for working in your home and you have to go in circles to get them to do their basic job. Not worth the money or hassle! I was going to have our garage closets done but I will definitely be using another company. RUN!

I regret calling Closets By Design. My sales rep came in, took measurements and **** what I could get on paper. After a few days I started hanging clothes in my builder grade closet and realized what she designed still wouldnt address my storage problem. Per the contract customers only have 3 days to cancel via mail. It was 10 pm and all mailing services had closed so I sent my rep an email asking to cancel for now until I had more money to spend on a more sophisticated design. She responded the next day and said it was too late. That same day I texted her a picture of a closet I thought would address my issues. She told me she would call me later that day and we would talk. Four days went by and I had to reach out to her again. We never talked on the phone so I couldnt clarify what she initially designed and what to expect. I sent yet another follow up message asking for a 3D rendering because all I received was some rectangles drawn on paper. She said she would get with her manager. Again no follow up on her part. The last time I communicated with her was on May 18th via text. That same day I called the office and tried to cancel. The guy I spoke with wasnt willing to accommodate my request. I explained what I was getting wouldnt fit my needs and I was no longer interested in the system or service. He told me I could get another closet done which again is forcing me to accept something I dont want. Even if I moved out of my house they refused to cancel. They said they can install somewhere else where there is a Closets By Design branch or I can ask someone I know if they needed a closet system but I would have to get that person to pay me back and not Closets By Design.Nothing I was quoted for is custom made or required special fabrication. In actuality the system that was designed is no different than a DIY system. Its 2023 and for mail to be a customers only option of cancellation is outrageous. You dont even get a 3D rendering.
