I signed a contract with C2 on August 16, 2021 to provide ACT tutoring for my grandson ********************************. Contract ID *********, tuition cost $ ******** ****** received extensive tutoring until January 2022. In May 2022, I sent an email to find out whether there was a balance left and whether I might be able to receive a refund. *************, the director of the Avalon C2 called me and told me that there was a refund available (about $780.00) and that she suggested I leave it on the books in case my grandson, who was entering ***********************, could use some long-distance tutoring help during his first semester there. The contract was due to expire in February 2023. I agreed to that. ***** was not able to use C2's help and on January 24, *************************************************************** February. On January 25, Ms. ** answered that she would make a request for the refund and would send me a form to sign, indicating how I would like to be paid and where to send the refund. I received the form, sent it in and was assured on February 6 that it had been received, that it would be submitted to the manager and that I should receive the refund shortly Since then nothing has happened. I have exchanged several emails and phone calls with Ms. ** and gotten nothing but excuses. On March 21, she claimed that there "was a mix-up" and apologized for the "unexpected delay." On March 22, I was asked to come to the office to sign a proxy contract, because the original one had expired and they could not proceed unless they had a current one. Despite further emails, I have not received a refund.I have all the emails exchanged between C2 and me (hard copies and emails) and copies of all the contracts. Unfortunately I have no scanner and cannot upload documents. I will be glad to forward emails, or send hard copies. Please let me know how you want me to proceed. I could also try to send you copies via cell phone.

C2 Education is a horrible money hungry business. We bought over 30 hours and we only used less than 1/2 of those hours for our son. Our son didnt improve at all, then they closed the center near our house (**********) .They told ** we had 18 hours left and that those hours never expired. We tried using them for AP Calculus or for Essay ****************** Writing Application this month without any support. The new center (Portal Ranch) wouldnt support our hours since we belonged to the ********** center. We have asked for a refund with our any luck. What are we suppose to do? We dont have anyone to help tutor or us so we want our money now.

C2education and we enrolled at this place. The teachers or our kids couldnt actually say what the curriculum was and what they were doing there. There was no homework no plan no tracking no nothing. We never got to meet teachers and we always go through the center director/staff and every conversion would lead to her pushing us to enroll for more hours. Whenever we tried to bring lack of progress or get an idea of what they were learning and what is actually being taught they would ask us to swap and try diff subject since this wasnt yielding results. We did that couple of times and we gave up and said we would like to try math enrichment instead of SAT and again it yielded no results and my kids were wasting time there that could be spent wisely and productively on their hobby or somewhere else. The classes were detrimental to their success and finally we decided to give up and ask them for refund. They cited their age as excuse and told us that we could take break and hours never expire and that we could cancel anytime. THEY NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT 24 months or no refund. We took break and after couple of months and around COVID time I had been trying to call them and emailing them. The mails bounced back and none of my calls were returned. I tried walk-ins multiple times and the center was closed and no one was reachable. On top of all chaos it became full time job to track them or get hold of them. And I couldnt. Every 3-6 months I engage in trying to reach them and they were never reachable. And I said I had been trying to reach them for past 2-3 years and its been exhausting and email were bounching back and doors were closed and no one was answering phone. She said it was because of covid and they moved it online and their centers are closed for security purpose and they dont answer doors or walk-ins and I should have booked appointment and refused refund stating 24month contract

I was mislead about the contract. I did not have my glasses and asked the director about refunds. ***** told me that after 10 hours yes a full refund was the option. They then use language hidden in the contract to keep customer money when a customer wants to stop short of 59 hours. It is a money making scam. Very unethical and should be investigated. Many other parents have had similar problems. This is one of several similar complaints. The BBB needs to investigate this company
