My apartment was affected by the sprinkler system pipe that burst in the attic on Christmas Day, 12/25/22. I was not updated on the condition of my apartment until I arrived back in town on 12/26/22. I spoke with **** (the property manager) in her office on Tuesday, 12/27/2022 when she returned. The property manager advised me that I could not be accommodated into another apartment while the damages were being fixed. She also stated that my rent could not be prorated during the period of repairs for the severe damages. Today makes 9 days and my apartment damages are not fixed. Mold has started to grow in the unit along with mildew. The unit is uninhabitable, and the property manager stated she did not know when the apartment would be complete. She stated if I left the apartment that would be an early termination fee in order to break the lease even though it was an issue on the building's behalf. I'm also expected to continue paying my monthly rent. This is totally unacceptable considering the damages in my apartment. I've been a resident at this complex for 12 years and the way things are being handled are very concerning.Other apartment complexes are accommodating their residents during this time by putting them in other units and/or hotels and prorating their rent until repairs are completed. I would love and accept any help and/or advice with this situation. This is a serious health and safety issue. Thanks for your time.
