The hospice does not meet its stated care standards with hospice patients , nor does it meet ******** requirements for incapacitated patient care The hospice pamphlet promises 24 hour nursing care while a patient is dying . My sister was left alone with my mother the day she died , and the nurse on call left the house knowing my mother was close to death .She was unresponsive and had a distended abdomen .She died in my sisters arms and went into pulmonary edema as she died . Hospice nurses are trained to manage symptoms of dying patients so the family is spared . The hospice nurses provided no education with how to use the narcotics for pain control . There was no documentation at any time of how much narcotics and sedatives were used and when . The nurses left the house after visits and refused to ***** my mother for pain when she was in an agitated state despite my sister asking for help . This includes ************************* , Director of Nursing . The pain kit did not arrive until 12 days after my mother was in hospice. It is supposed to be there from the start . The nurses refused to assess my mother for a urinary tract infection and told us to take her to her urologist, despite hospice s responsibility to manage medical care for comfort . She did have an infection . This company is irresponsible and unsafe with patients . Thank you for your consideration .
