    One of the dispatch drivers at Smokerise Towing stole my government issued documents (social security card, passport, and birth certificate) from a vehicle they towed. The driver also stole my pistol that is registered legally to me. I have already filed complaints with the attorney general, ***, and will be filing a police report with the ********* police to investigate Smokerise and their employees. Every review is speaking of how Smokerise employees have stolen from them. Why hasnt the BBB done anything about this?

    I knew something would go wrong as soon as these people continued to tow my car after being notified that I had filed bankruptcy. One ***************** to have doubts about it while the other urged to tow it. They verified that I had indeed filed but acted as though they weren't informed about it and still towed my car. I was ok with it as they did allow me to gather what I could out of the car. I had so much stuff in the car that I was worried about (ca seats, work laptop, bags, gun etc.) that I didn't realize that I had left my apple watch in the arm rest. After they told my car I called the car lender (APCU) and asked why was my car towed knowing I had filed bankruptcy and they played dumb with me as if they didn't know and ordered the car to be released to me immediately. HOWEVER, THIS COMPANY MAKES YOU SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT THATS USUALLY NOT AVAILBLE UNTIL 3-4 DAYS LATER. So I had no car during that time and was forced to purchase a rental. When I finally got to the tow lot for my "appointment" they had not only drove all of my gas out of it, but they went through it and took my apple watch out. I informed the *** at the lot that it was gone and he called the tow *** & the tow *** LIED and told him that I went through the entire car and took everything out. I still completed a claim for my watch being stolen & specifically asked if I was wasting my time doing so and the *** said "no, someone will contact you from the company within 48 hours". Well, no has called me since then as expected.Did I mention that on top of the $200 that I had to pay for a rental that I also had to pay these people $25 to get my car back?The worst part about this experience is how soulless these people are man. I was very polite & didn't even put up a fight when they tried to get the car WHICH I SHOULD HAVE. They are pure bottom of the barrel thieves and should not be in business at all. I hope that everyone done wrong by these people are given back double what was taken from them.

    I am writing to file a complaint regarding the repossession of my vehicle by Smokerise Towing and Transport in ******* due to a past due balance with CarMax. I have paid off the entire past due balance as of last night, but Smokerise Towing and Transport is now requiring me to make an appointment to pick up my vehicle. I believe this requirement is unreasonable, as I have fulfilled my obligation by paying off the balance, and I should be able to retrieve my vehicle immediately.After conducting some research, I have discovered that I am not the only consumer facing issues with Smokerise Towing and Transport. Numerous reviews on Yelp indicate that they frequently damage cars and steal personal property from repossessed vehicles. I am concerned that this delay in allowing me to pick up my vehicle is a tactic to display my car in their auction today and to increase service fees unfairly.I have attempted to resolve this issue directly with Smokerise Towing and Transport, but they continue to insist on the appointment requirement, which I find unnecessary and inconvenient. A satisfactory resolution for me would be to have immediate access to my vehicle without the need for an appointment, as I have already satisfied all outstanding balances.I can't take off work another day to get this resolved.The proof of them frequently damaging vehicles: ************************************************************************************************************.

    They towed my car and when I went to pick it up my backseat was down and they had been in my trunk. My car wouldn't start. I got my car home and my daughter her wallets she sell were missing. I fliled a police report and contacted the tow company and they claim they only had access to my car when I got there. Even their reviews are mostly about theft of property

    On 04/17/2024 my car was repossessed by smokers towing from the parking lot of the hotel that I was staying at. I did not find out that they had taken it until the following day. I was told by my finance company I needed to come up with 500 dollars to get it back. It took me almost a month but I finally did. When I went to get it on 05/03/2024 upon arrival I notice damage to the front left bumper and tire. The tire was completely blown and the scrape on the number was from the top to the bottom of the bumper and the length from the headlight all the way around to the wheel well. Upon further inspection, I found more damage to other parts of the vehicle. Including front skirt ripped off, the rear door frame bent out from them breaking in, and a significant leak of oil underneath. All said I was told by them that it was like that when they picked it up. I called my finance company and they told me that I had to have a mechanic come and look at it before they would investigate and that was all they could tell me. Now I have no vehicle and no clue how to go about getting this taken care of most efficiently.

    This place COMPLETELY DAMAGED my classic Mustang trying to repossess it. (Not because of missed payments)!!! the tow truck driver took my car from the Office *** parking lotdamaged the rear end of the car in the process and drove off and around with the vehicleno accident report! The tow truck driver refused to allow me to collect my belongings from inside my vehicle or to contact the bank or get my car on the spot while objecting the tow entirely. Not only that but they turned off my tablet that was mounted as a dash cam. And they did not allow me to collect my personal belongings for 4 days! They lied about the car being locked and how they were able to put a bar onto my steering column! They charged me a fee to get a key made! Thats not all, the business address and name is not the addresses name on the street or the websitethe addresses name on the business is cobalt NOT SmokeRise within the 15 minutes of my allotted appointment I spent all of 15 looking for the business and calling their number which was experiencing technical difficulties while calling. These people do such bad business that I truly thought my car was stolen. Not only that but my cars belongs were rummaged through! The website isnt allowing me to upload pictures and videos but believe me; I have them!!! These people need to be investigatedas well as the lenders who contract them because it seems something greater is going on.

    For deprivation of property without due process of law in violation of Plaintiffs rights pursuant to the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the Constitution of the ************* of *******. On January 8, ****, SMOKERISE TOWING AND TRASNPORT seized my car described as 2023 ****** Sentra, towed it to their company lot located at: *********************************************************************************************, locked it up behind a security fence and upon my demand to return said property to me, forthwith refused to return said property, all without affording my right to due process of law.SMOKERISE also failed to notify local police authorities that they were repossession, taking, removing a vehicle/automobile so that the Owner would know where their property was taken to. SMOKERISE TOWING AND TRASNPORT cannot be deprived me of property without due process of law. We are also adding this same complaint against ******* Recovery Solutions as they are the responsible We intend to file a Federal Lawsuit against ******* Recovery ********************************** jointly. A separate lawsuit against ****, unless the parties choose to comply with Constitutional Law.

    On 11/17/2023 My vehicle was repossessed from a mall parking lot. I wasnt aware because when I called 911 to see if it had been repossessed they had no knowledge. I had my iPhone still in the vehicle and was able to see that it was located at this establishment. I immediately called the number I found on ****** because I also had a laptop, my credit cards, and other belongings. I contacted the company to retrieve my personal property only to arrive and see that my phone was missing in front of one of their employees. After noticing I did not see my phone I immediately told the employee and was told to file an incident report. I did the incident report and asked for the next steps. I had been calling on and off to see if there was any updates to finding my device to only be told the manager would reach out to me but they never did. 01/08/2024 I was finally transferred to the manager who was verify rude and told me I couldnt prove my phone was there when I had the location the night of also that I could have taken my own phone out of the vehicle and turned it off myself. This Managers name was *****. He then stated that I could be saying anything and what resolution was I looking for. I only wanted to know if belongings were missing from my vehicle what were the steps that needed to be taken so I could get possession of my property that was missing. ***** stated I waited to long to call a even though I have been calling since November 17th! I then proceeded to tell ************ could provide proof that my belongings were missing and then ***** stated I should have called the police that day to file a police report. The only reason I didnt file a police report is because they stated the incident report would be investigated and I would be contacted within 3 business days! After calling several times for months I was never contacted! No one investigated and I got called a liar to my face and then hung up on!

    I am a senior that fell on hard times and this company was very unprofessional in my pursuit to get my vehicle back. My car was picked up from my Dr's **** at ************** on 9/18. I was told by the finance company regional acceptance that I would have until 10/2 to get my vehicle. I was able to get my vehicle paid and released on 10/3. When me and my daughter went to retrieve the vehicle she was told that she needed to pay an additional $540. She asked if she could pay via card and the yard worker stated they only took cash. She proceeded to get the cash only to find out that they won't give change. She then proceeded to find change without any help from the company. The representative **** informed me that the storage fee would be $25 dollars however the lot attendant informed me that it was $30. I gave the lot attendant $540 and he wrote something on a piece of paper for me to sign. I asked for a copy of what I signed along with a receipt and was told that I couldn't take a photo of the signed document nor did they have receipts. I spoke with the owner ***** at the following number ************ and he assured me that he would send a email in 30 minutes with a receipt. I was told that it didn't matter and the lot attendant wouldn't release my car until the amount was paid. even though my car was released by the financial company. I am asking for a copy of the document and proof that the storage fee is what they charged me. I am a senior and I feel like they took advantage of me. I spent $6500 to get the car and had to pay them another $540 and I want a document for my records. ******* wouldn't get on the phone and now they won't answer the phone. ***** also told me that the finance company sets the charges and it is different for every vehicle. I am so disturbed that they would do this and not give me the documents I am requesting. I really would like my money back because I think this is a fraudulent company and they are out to get people. Please HELP.
