In February of this year we had Taylor Construction (Phone number ###-###-####) install a bath to shower conversion. We paid a total of $13,308. Over the past few weeks we have noticed that the caulking used on the project is turning yellow. The shower is a bright white so this is quite an obvious flaw. I reached out to them three times over the past three weeks and have yet to receive a phone call back to schedule for someone to come out and take a look at the shower. No person ever answers the phone and leaving messages does not result in a return phone call. As the shower is covered by warranty I feel it is a legitimate request to ask them to re-caulk the shower with a product that will not turn color. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Business response

Dear Better Business Bureau,
The Certificate of Completion that was signed by the ********** at the job In August when the job was completed it is attached expressing their satisfaction with the job. At the completion the window installer lead did explain that wood will need to be painted. Mr. ********* acknowledged he understood.
About 2 weeks ago we did receive a call asking about their trim work around the outside of the windows our office explained that we will be in touch. When we reached out the phone number that we had for the *********'s was disconnected
We have reached out to the phone number now listed here and have left a voice mail. We apologize for any confusion and look forward to speaking with the ********** to resolve any issues.
Sincerely,
Taylor Construction

I have a question about accepting the businesses response here. This is what they said to me initially after I filled the complaint and they called. After speaking with them, they came out and looked and the installation. There was not only damage to the windows but also they did not install the gutters properly as we discovered. As soon as they saw the work, they immediately said it was a poor job and I did not have to do any convincing otherwise. They have arranged for someone to come out and fix the issues this month. So we have came to a resolution outside of this complaint however, their original response here is not an acceptable resolution. I want to acknowledge their effort to fix this, but I'm afraid if I accept their initial response here in BBB it could go against me and I do not agree with their initial response. They did change the way they thought about the situation after we talked and they viewed the job. So, what should I do?Initial Complaint

This company did a tub/ shower remodel and allowed debris to go into my bathroom/ bathtub pipes, due to failure to cover the drain. They had me to call a plumber and he has come out 2 times thus far to blow the drain out. The plumber has ti come again due to slow draining and backup. The plumber is stating that he needs to get inside the walls to access the Ptrap and fully address the entire problem. Also they cut into a main electrical wire without advising me. Then taped it up and stated it should be fine, yet I have lights flickering in my home. Southern Industries will not return my calls or text now that they have collected the final payment and it putting this on the plumber's 6 month warranty. The receipt from the plumber states the blow out is guaranteed for 6 months. The problem is bigger than a blowout.Business response

Dear Mr. ********,
We do apologize that you received a flyer from our company on your door. Our company does have marketing teams that go out to offer home improvements to neighbors of our customers. I am unsure why there would be multiple flyers, they simply hang one on the door if no one answers the door. I imagine that occasionally the pamphlets may stick together, if this happened this was no intentional. If we may help you in the future with any home improvements please let us know!
Sincerely,
Southern Industries Home Improvements

I live in ***************. And live on a fixed income. And on ******* I ordered a walk-in tub from sales rep *********** ******** of ******************* (contractor) for $*********. On ******** the tub was installed by Taylor construction (sub contractor) . My brother-in-law replaced the subfloor to the old tub. Because I was told they would do everything needed under the tub to be done to support the new tub. The cut the old tub out with a saws all. Cutting into the floor. Spending approximately 10 hours they finished and demonstrated the use of the new tub. Pulling the larger panel from the tube showing how to use a tool for removal. After about three weeks, my brother-in-law finishing the bathroom remodeling had to remove both panels to lay my new flooring. And discovered that the contractor cut my floor joist and subfloor leaving a large hole under the tub and into my crawlspace. A hole approximately 12 inches by 9 inches and never repaired the joist. I called the numbers on the paperwork I had on Monday the **********************************. I was told she would have someone call. Call never came. I hired Taylor Construction to install my master shower in 2016. ******** 2021 the shower tray cracked. Its still under warranty, so I contacted them for the repair. ***** 2021 Justice, an installer, came out to measure to order materials for the reinstall. **** of 2021, I called and spoke to Jennifer to get the status on the materials, but was told the materials still hadn't come in. She said materials were on back order due to Covid. I called in ********* to check the status and was told the shower color I have has been discontinued so I would need to choose another color. An appointment was scheduled in ********* to choose another color, but no one showed on the scheduled day. After several calls and complaints, Eric finally came to my house in ******** to write up another invoice to order materials AGAIN. As of today, I still have the crack in my shower floor, and the crack is spreading. I have called several times, with no return calls. I decided to go to the corporate office in Roswell 2 weeks ago (4-13) and spoke to Eric in person. He was very condescending and patronizing with a bit of aggression. He told us they're still waiting for materials from the manufacturer and there is nothing he can do about it. He stated furniture stores are backordered as well so I just have to wait like everybody else. Its been 14 months and the shower has still not been repaired.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/04/25) */ Dear Better Business Bureau, The Taylor bath division has spoken to ***. ******-******. There base has arrived and the replacement has been scheduled for ***** ****. We sincerely apologize for the delay in materials. The materials have not been coming in regularly. Sincerely, Taylor Bath Division 706-736-5555 ***** Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/04/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I filed my original complaint with the BBB on ***** ****. On ***** ****, I received a call from Taylor Construction informing me that all the materials were in, so we scheduled the install for ***** ****. On ***** **** the technician from Taylor Bath arrived to replace my Shower which has been an ongoing issue for over a year. I had been informed by Eric P on a recent visit to the Company that they had plenty of shower doors, the panels were in the warehouse and the shower tray would be coming in within the next two weeks. He stated once the tray came in, my Shower would finally be fixed, however this was not the case. Roman the technician informed me immediately after installing the shower tray and panels that he did not have the correct shower doors and he would need to return on *** *** to install the shower doors. Unfortunately this will not happen as he phoned me to say there were no shower doors available because currently shower doors are on back order for 2 weeks. I am sure that not only was Roman aware of this but Taylor Bath was as well. I feel Taylor Construction scheduled the install to satisfy the complaint fully knowing they did not have all the materials. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/05/25) */ Dear Better Business Bureau, Taylor Bath Division has been in touch with ***. ******-****** in regards to her shower repair form ****. We apologize for the delay in the bath warranty materials, they are taking much longer on materials. ***. ******-****** did receive an upgrade for the shower door and once the crew arrived to install the shower door. I will not accept their response until my shower has been fully repaired because I've been going back and forth with this company for 15 months. My last two appointments have resulted in my shower doors not being installed. I will be satisfied once my shower installation is completely finished with all imperfections corrected as well. On ***************** we signed a contract with Taylor Construction to have a bathroom remodeled for a total cost of almost $12,0000. We made the required down payment of $4K. When we signed the contract we were told it would be 6-8 weeks to get the materials and then an install would be scheduled. As of ******** we still do not have an install scheduled. I call and/or text weekly for an update and have been told on two separate occasions************************************ @ Taylor Construction that the final piece (the shower walls) are out for delivery and should arrive in a "couple of days". I asked to speak with a manager on ********* and was told he (*****) was on the phone and would call me back. To date ******** I have not heard back from him. They NEVER answer the phone when I call and I always have to leave a message or go to the operator to get to actually speak with someone.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 11, 2022/04/27) */ Dear Better Business Bureau, Taylor Bath Division has completed Mrs. ****'s bath project. We apologize for the delay in the project, it was never the intention for the project to take so long. The materials have been unpredictable on delivery. The lack in communication was demonstrated in the Taylor division, Taylor bath apologies for this. They actively are working on communicating more efficiently daily. Mrs. **** has a few details we are still working on together. We have ensured her that her job will be completed to her satisfaction. Sincerely, Taylor Bath Division Southern Industries ****************** Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/05/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Taylor did finally complete the bathroom remodel on *****************. Started on **********, arrived without the grab bars and shower door. The shower and toilet were installed in 2 days, but the shower door did not arrive until Friday. They had to return on the following week to remove glue from the bathroom floor.....this took multiple phone calls to resolve. Immediately upon completion of the shower their billing department started calling me DAILY. There was not discount or consideration given for the long delays in delivering the service or the failure to communicate. I asked for an Invoice to be mailed to me and **** just kept repeating that it had been emailed and was very rude. I will NEVER use or recommend Taylor Construction again. I am very happy with the final product, but there is NOTHING that can make up for the horrendous lack of customer service. When you spend $12K for a bathroom remodel I should at a minimum be able to expect to be notified when there is a delay and to have phone calls returned when I call to speak with a supervisor.
