    My experience with Bob's Fabric & Upholstery is a business that is desperate. I left a sofa with them to upholstery. Picked out my fabric and paid my deposit. At the time, the lady, vicky did not tell me it would be December 2021 before they would have my sofa ready. A little sense would not have allowed me to leave a sofa for that long of a period of time when I don't have anything to sit on. When I went to check on it this is when I am told how long it would be before my sofa will be ready. They don't give refunds, want to charge me for material that they have not cut nor used, and then want to give me a store credit on the balance of my deposit. If I don't want you to upholster my sofa, what makes one think I want to purchase from them? They claim to be a "christian" business. I beg the difference. Would a true christian sweddle a potential customer? Then got signs outside there building looking for upholstery help but want to hold me accountable for there shortcomings.
    I would not recommend doing business with a fraud.

    Thank you for the notification,
    Ms ****** was told we were 25 weeks out due to the pandemic. Every industry is behind right now. People are staying at home and are tired of the way their furniture looks and are wanting to have it covered. The business we are in is a dying trade and upholsters are hard to come by. I have 3 upholsters here now and I'm always looking for more, however, most shops usually only have 1 to 2 upholsters. When Ms ****** came in to check on her sofa, she said she had bought a new sofa and didn't need it now. However, she did say that she didn't know we were that far out. We tell everyone as soon as they mention upholstery, that we are out at least 25-30 weeks right now. We are now booking into March/April and people leave furniture everyday. I told her at that time that the only thing she would be held responsible for, was the fabric that has been pulled off the rack, (in the amount of $265.69) that was unable to be sold to anyone else since it has been held for her, and she would have a store credit for the balance of $334.01. On our front door their is a sign that says all sales are final and she signed a contract that says "All contracts are final." I'm not sure how being a christian has anything to do with the time frame to do an upholstery job? This has been God's business since day one and will continue too be! We are well aware that God has provided every customer and every dollar that has been made over the years! I have documentation that was signed by the customer that states that she agreed to no refunds and she was aware of the time frame. I feel as though she changed her mind after she purchased the other couch and now doesn't want to pay for what she committed too. We have been in business over 60 years and this is the first complaint that we have ever had filed with the BBB. We try to work with our customers the best that we can. We appreciate everyone that comes in the store and keeps this family business going. I'm sorry that we couldn't come to an agreement with Ms ****** however we do have a policy that we have to stand by to protect our business and our employees. Basically she has bought another Sofa and change her mine.

    My response to this is a lie. Why would I leave my sofa at an upholstery shop knowing that it was going to take 25 weeks to finish. That is ne word against another. Yes, I signed the agreement not knowing that it taking 25 weeks. As far as there other customers and how they feel about the long length of time to finish has nothing to do with me. The fabric has not been cut! Why would you cut fabric for something that's going to be a year before completion. They are taking in as many customers as they can with there lies. I'm not the only customer they have lied too and is dissatisfied. I have filed a dispute with the credit card company. How you feel about what you think has nothing to do with you telling me one thing to get my business ,then doing a bait and switch to secure my business. This is not good business ethics.

    Thank you for the up date. We have been in business since 1960 and we did not build this business on lie's. I'm sorry that she feels this way, however. she was ok wth the time frame when she was in here. But then she decided to buy another sofa and decided she didn't want the sofa reupholstered anymore. It's a little ironic that she will get on here and file a complaint and dispute it with her credit card company, however she has yet to come pick it up because she spent her money on a new sofa. If there is a way, we can send copies of all the documents we have to show on the top of her paper work it says how far out we are. The fabric is cut as soon as the customer makes their selection so that the fabric does not get sold.
