I had surgery August 19, 2024. AU Health Billing went directly against their policy of only one bill and sent me seperate bills with their heading. I fought them for three months before applying for financial assistance Nov 12, 2024. They lost my paperwork and despite me calling them regularly they never processed my application. I found out about this in February 2025. I immediately sent in the paperwork they requested. They approved financial assistance but continued to send my account to collections despite me trying to pay them during the ten day period (they would not accept money from me during that period even though I have a letter saying they would). The letter I received from financial assistance went against their own protocol of going back six months from the application date (which would have included my surgery). Now they have lost my account, say that I didn't receive services, and are refusing to change the dates on the letter and have sent me to collections. I have called, emailed, and messaged them through their portal. Every time I call it's been "oh that's not my department please call this other department" bouncing me between billing and financial assistance. Every time it's been "we'll get this straightened out" to "this is your problem. We cannot help you." My bill is roughly ***** dollars. I would just like to pay what the letter says I should, no more than 3% of that.

I have health insurance with anthem ********** Blue Shield with *********************. I get this estimate for $340. I called the number listed on the email that you sent me and the woman was no help.

I went to a Wellstar *********** at Vinings health park, and the doctor told me they did not have the ability to treat my injury, and both the doctor and the staff at the desk confirmed I would not be billed for the urgent care visit because I received no service. Wellstar billed me anyways. I have already talked to Wellstar and they have done nothing.

I called to make an appointment for my annual Pap smear and was told that I could not be serviced at that location, it was a location I had never been to. I recently moved to my area a year ago. Shocked and confused I asked why, they told me their sister location banned me from all their locations. This clinic is Wellstar GME. My last time going to this facility was a follow up appointment after my last child and that was a pleasant appointment. I did have the worst experience my last pregnancy with Wellstar GME. The physician was demeaning and refused to give me an ultrasounds telling my insurance wouldnt cover them only to find out they did. I am being banned from all Wellstar facilities due to one physician saying I canceled too many appointments. Something I was never give a warning about and canceled all appointments within a week notice. This happened at the Wellstar GME on ****************************. In ********. I had to go to two different facilities because I was considered high risk during my pregnancy, while working and taking care of a baby that they told me wasnt allowed to be present at appointments (even though other people would bring their children) I at least made it to my appointment once a month. But because I could not make it to the every week appointment towards the end during my already hard pregnancy. I have to be banned? This woman was so rude and condescending and talk to me like I was an idiot. She expressed disdain for me every visit and nothing happened when I reported her and reached out to her superiors nothing came of it. Why ban me from ALL Wellstar facilities? I cried because that experience to me was already traumatic enough being treated that way during a vulnerable time and taking what I consider to be abuse to not create further conflict, I was born at a Wellstar hospital and they are everywhere. How can one physician cause me to get completely banned? ****** E. ****** is the physician I dealt with and who banned me for context

I am frustrated with Wellstar ************ on *********** in ******* regarding billing. When I called to make an appointment for November 2, 2023, I was assured that ***************************** was in-network with my insurance. However, I later discovered that the doctor did not actually go in-network until February 1, 2024. My insurance wasn?t billed until May of 2024. As a result, my insurance denied the payment, leaving me with an unexpected and significant balance. Despite reaching out to the medical office to address this issue, they refused to take any responsibility or offer a solution. My insurance company reached out to them also and they only offered a 20% discount. While the doctor provided excellent care, the deceptive information about insurance coverage and the office's lack of accountability were deeply disappointing. My own daughter is also dealing with this. I would Wellstar to dismiss the charges for Nov 2, 2023.

My daughter had a surgery scheduled this past May with the orthopedic surgeon *******************************. Naturally as the dad, I have questions and concerns regarding my daughter so I tried to contact ******************** ****** to get them answered. From the start it was very difficult to contact ******************** ****** because I would call the ****** number to speak with somebody and as soon as I told them what I needed, I was transferred to somebody supposedly able to answer my questions and the call was disconnected after minutes of waiting. In total I was transferred and on hold for over an hour trying to get to someone that had the answers. I was notified by a ******** and a **** (spelling?) that I, the biological father of the patient, was not listed as a contact in my daughter's profile with the doctor's even though I was listed 2 years prior for the first visit. I was informed I had to physically go to the doctor's ****** and submit the court Orders that outlined my paternal parental rights, which I am familiar with due to the fact that the mother unfortunately has a pattern of excluding my information from our children's profiles with schools, doctor ******s, etc. and even going as far as maliciously and atrociously listing her husband as their biological father. Up until that point the problem was with the mother and would be taken care of. I submitted the proper court orders at the ****** and was very rudely mistreated by ******* and ***** for simply asking questions. ******* also lied several times stating that Wellstar security would validate the orders. I pursued my paternal rights and complaints with Wellstar Patient **************** namely ***** and *****, with no resolution and incompetent unprofessional treatment. Then with no solution my situation was transferred to yet another department and more incompetent unprofessional people (*************************, ***************************, and then ultimately *************************). This is only a brief of the total gross incompetence.

I had a procedure on March 15, 2024 at WellStar ***************************, they made me pay $500 upfront the morning of the life threatening procedure, I thought this was a hospital co-pay. Turns out it was not a co-pay and according to my insurance company on 4/22/24, the agreement with WellStar is that they can only collect co-pays at the time of visit/procedure and no other fees upfront. ***************** called Well Star on 4/22/24 while I was on hold, then told me I should be getting the $500 refund. I have tried on numerous occasions to get this money back so I could pay the $500 charge to Anesthesia. WellStar has been contact on 4/25/24, 5/28/24, 6/20/24 with one excuse after another as to why they refuse to send my refund. The last excuse was "the policy says that as long as there are pending bills no refunds will be sent". There are no pending bills for this date of service. I will be followed for years for this diagnosis, it's not fair to keep my $500 for years! Send back my money for this procedure on 3/15/24 and we will deal with future services as they come up. This is not fair, you should not have taken advantage of a patient that was just diagnosed with cancer and was distraught the morning of surgery! On 6-20-24 I requested to speak with *****, ********'s boss in billing and she still has not called me.

I made an appointment with Northwest ENT & ************** through the Wellstar appointment line that was posted on their website. I was anxious to be seen for symptoms of dizziness but did not want to go to the ** because of delayed and inadequate care there in the past. My niece was on the call with me on speaker phone because she helps with arranging my medical care and can corroborate this account. She was also with me when I presented for my appointment on November 17th. I had seen ******************** in the past at this practice but he was booked out and I needed to be seen as soon as possible. The scheduler said that ************************* had an opening on Friday, November 17 at 11:00 AM and had expertise in diagnosing and treating vertigo. The date and time were repeated and I was told to bring my insurance information. I have post-Polio syndrome and am unable to get around easily, especially with the dizziness, which makes it difficult for me to get in and out of a car. Therefore, transport to the appointment was arranged with Silver Street Transportation and I paid $135.00 for a round-trip to the practice and back home. When I arrived at my appointment, I was told that there was no appointment for me. I explained the details about making the appointment and requested to be seen by whoever was available. The employee at the window was rude, expressed no apology or understanding, and dismissed me saying that the appointments "are scheduled at a center in ************" and there was nothing she could do. Apparently, the appointment was never entered into the system by the scheduler. The phone used to book the appointment shows that I spoke with the scheduler for Northwest ENT and ************** *************) at 10:53 AM on November 7, 2023, for 19 minutes. The remedy requested is reimbursement of the $135.00 I paid for medical transportation to and from this practice and a call from the business, acknowledging the problem, so that it does not happen to anyone else.
