On 8/21/2024, Collectible sold this 1966 **** *********************** to a gentleman in ********** ****** the asking price of $39,900. My son was the salesman and accidentally charged 1% in tax, which came out to be ****** (1% of sales price minus fees as that is the tax we charge in *******). This was corrected and refunded immediately by our office manager when she found the error.
The buyer, *** ******** purchased the vehicle that day for $39,900 and we agreed on price with all documents signed and Bill of Sale signed at $39,900 and we received the wire transfer . My son who is new in the business lowered the price on our website which we do on occasion and after the fact *** ******* saw the price that one of our employees did lowering it to $34,900 and *** ******* took a screenshot to save it. *** ******* agreed to pay the price advertised at the time of purchase in the amount of $39,900. He claimed that he made a mistake and thought that the price was $34,900 and the difference ($5,000) which he thought was the tax payment (but we do not charge tax to our out of state customers).
After a phone call, *** ******* asked that I refund the $5,000 that he claimed he was wrongfully charged. I disagreed, but made an agreement to him that since we both made a mistake, I would pay the difference personally between his tax payment (estimated $2,500) and the difference of price ($5,000) which came out to be around $2500. He agreed, and claimed "man, I'm not trying to be a pain in the ***" I will accept that. He claimed he would go pay the tax and come back to me with the receipt so that I could personally send a check for the difference. In ******* we send registration only for older vehicles since Georgia is a state that provides registration so customers take the documents into their tag office and get a title in the state they live in. We have been doing this since in business and never had a customer that bought a vehicle that couldn't get a title in the state they live in.
A few weeks pass, and we don't hear from *** ******** He finds the phone number of one of our other owners, (there are three of us) *****, and decides to trash my son and claim he is a stealing, lying, shady salesman and that he wants his full refund back of $5000. He also calls ***** a Hillbilly and tells him he will see him in court. Justin finds this out and contacts *** ******** whilst very surprised, and tries to make things right. After bad reviews, bashing us on ******, Instagram, BBB, Yelp, and countless others, Justin offered to refund ******* the full $5,000 out of his personal pocket after he signs a document that states that he will not slander our business on any social platforms and removes all postings posted. *** ******* would not sign the document until he recieve Justins check first and has since decided to reach out to an attorney. I have since sent the information to his attorney and agreed ****** personallly would pay the taxes in ********* since he truly believed that *** ******* believed it part of the deal and was part of the purchase price. Also, once we recieve a letter stating and showing that all negative posts are removed, ****** was going to send a check from him personally. This is very untypical for this to happen but mistakes happen with pricing and per our reviews its clear we try to do the right thing for all of our customers. We maintain a A+ rating with the BBB and maintain one of the highest ****** reviews in the country doing the right things with customers which is hard to do selling 50 year old cars.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I want it stated in the *** that I will get a check for the difference and provided with photo copy proof of the check because like I stated before if I sign the *** they can get away with not refunding me and I wont be able to take them to court. The *** can be revised.I would like to be done this and move on
Sincerely,

We did contact Mr. ******** attorney and we pride ourselves on doing the right thing for every customer. We are not perfect and work hard on doing the right thing. We have never received an NDA from Mr. ******* and we never received anything showing the taxes paid or the amount in ********* he had to pay to title and tag his Cobra as ****** asked for when this all happened. We have no proof that all the negative comments posted have been removed and never received anything for us to sign that ****** would pay the tax difference in ********* because he really believed Mr. ******* thought the price included taxes. We will provide a copy of a check or would wire funds once we receive something that shows us that all the negative posts will be removed from all platforms. This is untypical for us if you read our ****** reviews or how we maintain an A+ rating on the BBB.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I never said I would send you guys a *** as far as taking the comments down I will but like I said it doesnt matter how much my taxes are all I want is the difference I overpaid I will take all the comments ******* if you would like to rewrite the *** stating that your going to refund me the total amount I overpaid and provided with a copy of the check I will sign your ****** far as the title or registration I already got that taken care of at a hefty price of $1,800 because I wasnt provided the proper documents but thats fine I want to be done with this and move on with my life.
Sincerely,

I reached out to Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta on June 12th 2023, inquiring about a **** Chevelle SS they were selling. After speaking to the owner ********************* via phone and face time we agreed on an offer including the shipping. After the deal was finalized, ************** coordinated with a shipping *** to pick up the car and deliver. This was on 6/16. The car arrived on 6/19. Immediately after the car was pulled off the truck, I noticed the steering and brakes were gone. The vehicle was leaking power steering fluid and 2/3 belts were gone and/ or off the pulleys. It should be noted when I spoke to ************** via face time the first day inquiring about the car it had 811 miles on the odometer. When the car arrived, it had 823. Some were due to a test drive he videoed for me. It should also be noted the car was delivered on a large 18-wheel semi-truck, parked towards the front with other vehicles loaded behind. It was clear this vehicle had not been driven since loaded at pick up. I let ************** know the condition the car arrived in. ************** said he wanted to "make things right" and said "we'll take care of it, just take it to a shop and let me know". He also requested pictures of the issues. I sent them immediately. I took the car to a local shop who found several issues with the aftermarket AC unit being in-properly aligned and in proper installation of belts. The shop worked hard to get my vehicle in that day, working to fix the issues. At this point I had not even driven the new car. When finished I informed ************** of the price and advised him, I had the invoice for his records. ************** immediately questioned everything that was done and stated I dont know if well be able to cover that cost. The total invoice was $1396 with me offering to cover $178 for parts/ service. Over 24 hours later, after putting the charge on my credit card ************** sent me a lengthy text saying they would not be paying for the invoice and stated they would refund me $500.Business Response

************************ was contacted and satisfied. We listened to his complaint and agreed since it was just taken off the truck and had an issue with the power steering we fixed the problem. We strive on doing our best at Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta and want to do what is right. His complaint, although it was missed by ************** prior to leaving our dealership had a power steering issue we were not aware of. He was a gentleman to deal with and appreciate the way it was all handled. Hopefully we sell him many cars in the future and he is happy and proud of his special Chevelle SS.
Thank you.

I had multiple cars listed for sale locally. i was contacted by *********************, the manager of Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta in regard to buying my cars. he was offering a consignment service for the vehicles. he entered into a verbal contract with me to sell the cars at a discounted commission below the standard ****% stated in their contract. when i arrived at the business to list the vehicles, ***** was not there and a different employee handled the intake of my vehicles and the paperwork. I DID NOT Sign a contract for the sale of the vehicles when i dropped them off because i was awaiting ********************* to modify the commission rate as verbally agreed to. Both vehicles sold. in fact one of them sold for considerably higher than the initial listing price after ***** raised the original asking price. However, the business collected and retained approximately 24% of the sale price as commission. There was no signed agreement after the expiration of the initial consignment period. there was no signed agreement modifying the sale price and there was no signed agreement for the sale of this vehicle whatsoever which calls into question the legality of the sale itself. ********************* said that there were expenses related to the sale that required him to retain more than ****%. however, i never authorized any work to be done on the car and he never contacted me to discuss acceptance of the offer. in so much as there was no sales agreement signed by the consignor (*************************) for the sale of the for the **** corvette, and the business failed to present any documentation of expenses related to sale, or agreement by the client for the execution of billable work to the consigned vehicle, Collectible Motorcar of Atlanta at a minimum is violation of the verbal contract and may ultimately be guilty of theft by deception.Business Response
