I had a $28 balance in my account I had two pending checks, this bank decided all of a sudden to put a hold on every check I deposit for 3 to 5 days. Never bounced a check with them before when I first opened the account they were deposited immediately All of a sudden they need to put a hold on it. I was going to be making a purchase from ******* that was about $170. I deposited money from my cash app to make the balance in my account the amount that I needed because it was showing my two checks as available balance. Had I known that they were lying I would have deposited more money from my cash app however it said I had enough to cover this transaction. Then they go and charge me a $30 NSF fee, if the money is not available until the checks clear then they should not have that listed as available balance. That is on them not on me. This is by far the worst bank that I've ever dealt with the worst bank my daughter has ever dealt with she's already cleaned out her account and I printed out the form for her to close her account I guess I'll be making a copy of that form for me to close my account too. I have never once bounced a check with them even if I have enough money to cover the check I deposited they still hold it for 3 to 5 days That's ridiculous. And unacceptable, if this is not rectified I will blast them all over the internet.Business Response

Hello,For the last few months the credit union has been going through a **** conversion. This conversion has impacted several members credit by reporting of balances on settled accounts, reporting bankruptcies that have been dismissed or discharged, reporting balances that are over 7 years old. These members credit scores have dropped and one member was not able to purchase a home. These are very serious violations and should be addressed immediately. I purchased several gift cards from Associated Credit Union to give out as gifts. At no point was I advised, either verbally in writing, that these gift cards carried a monthly service fee of 4.95. I attempted to use one of the cards and was told that the card had no balance. I was concerned since I had never used the card and didn't understand why brand new cards had no balance. Furthermore, since I had no balance, there was no indication of any transactions on the account. I had to contact customer service to find out that there is a monthly fee of $5 charged. This fee had never been charged in the past and if it were, no one would purchase these items since the fees would eat into the purchase price. I contacted the credit union who apologized but stated that the gift cards carried a non activity fee. Had I known this change was in affect, I would never had purchased them and would have given cash as gifts instead. I told them that they should have made these policies clear when they sold the cards and insured understanding with the policies.Business Response

For the past few years, I have held a consumer/auto loan with Associated Credit Union. Maintaining open communication with the company. Due to a work-related injury, I was put on light duty, resulting in a significant loss of income. Rather than making no payments at all, I started making smaller payments to stay current on my loan. As my financial situation improved and I was able to make larger payments, I was shocked to find out that a much higher amount was due each time I tried to bring my account up to date. Despite leaving voicemails and speaking with multiple representatives, I was met with firm responses that offered no assistance, and was led to believe that electronic payments were my only option and resulting in my car being repossessed. Even though I had sufficient funds in my Associated Credit Union account to cover my loan, they still refused to collaborate with me.
I remain hopeful that a timely resolution can be reached through a mutually agreeable payment plan or solution.
