My husband and I set out to purchase our first home in January 2024 and settled on one in Legacy Estates. We waited for the next phase of houses, signed the contract in early March, put up the ******* money, and sent it off to the builder. We tried to follow up with the builder, but literally could not get a response from anyone. Our realtor had to contact her lawyers and have them send the builder a letter because they had held our $3,000 ******* money for too long, 22 days to be exact, without signing our contract. The builder finally responded after they got the lawyer letter (of course). They said that they want us to terminate our current contract and draw up a new one because they want the old agents (that they decided to fire in the middle of development?) dropped off of the contract and the new agents put on. Then to top it all off, they said that they would not honor price that we signed for in the original contract (with the new price being $30,000+ what was in our contract). After all of this went down, my husband and I decided to walk away because if they were like this with us just trying to get our contract signed, we did not want to find out what other kind of disorganized, sketchy things were going on behind the scenes. We are so incredibly frustrated because we stopped searching for homes because we decided on this one. Now we are back looking at houses because of the severe negligence of George Tomas. We have missed out on several house opportunities because of everything George Tomas put us through. Our realtor said in her 25+ years of being a realtor, she has never seen something like this happen to anyone. I am posting this because I do not want this to happen to anyone else, especially another young married couple trying to purchase their first home together.
