On December 30th, 2023, I engaged in discussions with Mr. Nick Castillo, a general contractor, regarding home renovation services via a Facebook networking group. Mr. Castillo was recommended as a reputable contractor, prompting further consultation and an onsite assessment of the projects in question. On January 17th, 2024, contractual agreements were formalized, delineating the scope of work for kitchen, bathroom, and porch renovations. The contractual terms established a barter arrangement, with me providing digital marketing services in exchange for Mr. Castillo's contracting expertise. Despite assurances and intermittent progress updates, the project's completion was continually deferred, prompting a final deadline of March 17th, 2024. However, substantial discrepancies in invoicing and actual work completed surfaced, necessitating a comprehensive review of expenses. Upon scrutiny, it was discovered that overcharges totaling $1,700 were levied for items not received or beyond the agreed-upon scope of work. On March 22nd, 2024, I communicated these discrepancies to Mr. Castillo, prompting an adjustment of the invoice to reflect the true costs incurred. However, Mr. Castillo persisted in demanding full payment without providing a detailed breakdown of charges. In light of unresolved financial discrepancies and Mr. Castillo's failure to address concerns transparently, I refrained from remitting further payments until a satisfactory resolution was achieved. Regrettably, Mr. Castillo's subsequent actions, including public defamation of my business on social media platforms, have exacerbated the situation, warranting legal intervention to resolve this dispute amicably and equitably.

I would be cautious about doing business with this man. His quality of work is less than desirable. He was supposed to come back and correct problems with flooring and did not show. He also did drywall work and did not tape joints or complete it to a level 5 finish ready for paint. I had to replace a door that was hung wrong and he told me he would reimburse me the cost and never sent the money after I sent him the bill. The list go on and on.

Hello sir. You have my phone number and only reached out once. The floor was also subbed out through ******* home improvements. I did talk to you and said I would be out even tho it was from work done by a sub and not myself. All you had to do was call me again. I would be more than happy to give you the gentleman's number. I can't help that me and my entire family had covid and were forced to move. All you had to do was call again. Let me know if you would like the contact info of the company that was used to sub out that phase. I'm here to help and my apologies for not getting to you during Covid. Let me know I I can be of further assistance.

I was not meaning to hurt your feelings. I was just letting people know the quality of work they can expect if they hire you. I wish someone had warned me before I allowed you to perform work. You are the contractor responsible for the work when you sub out a job and it is your responsibility to correct the issues as the payment for the job was made to you and not the sub. I did not agree to a subcontractor. You told me the guy worked for you. People just need to check your references before committing to a contract with you. Your contract shows that you are responsible for any issues within a year of job being completed. So people beware this guy will blame everyone else for his mistakes. I'm not sure that you have even passed the contractor exam for contractors in this area.
