It's a privately owned water company and they must have been VERY inspired by ***** because they're basically holding water in the North Georgia area hostage. Here is the pain I experienced personally. Why I called them at all: An elderly family member passed February 11, , 2022 and Catoosa Utility allowed the water to stay on even after they received no payment and sent the letters of disconnect. They simply never disconnected service, allowed the bill to continue to accumulate while the residence sat empty, and outright refused to work with the son that eventually moved in. He called to explain the situation and tried to work with them. They called him a liar then came to the residence to take the water meter after finally cancelling their service almost a full year later. The final bill on the account is ~$5000. The son attempted to make a payment plan and was told no and they hung up on him. Months later, another family member told me and I am very passionate about business treating people right. ESPECIALLY A WATER company! No one was asking for gold watches.. It's water ***. This is a quick recap of my personal call with them. 1. Immediate hostility after calling and inquiring about this specific account. The first staff member, '******' basically told me, "There is nothing I can do and the total needs to be paid in full before we can bring the water meter back out." I then asked to escalate, and was finally, to ******** ******* the 'Office Manager'. She hit me with the same speech and when I asked to escalate again she said VERBATIM, "I turn the water on and off, there is no one else you can talk to." So here I am, desperate to help and desperate for your help. I thought fighting for the low people on ladder of life to have WATER was worth this lengthy message. I may be in the wrong place, but figured I would start here since CatoosaUtility is a privately owned water monopoly that is literally bleeding these lovely people dry. Literally.
