I went to purchase a car from the dealership. They showed me a car in the garage. I was confused they took me to the garage especially because I couldnt see the inside of the car but I agreed to purchase. They said they would have to detail it and I need to come **** the next day. They charged me over $700 for detailing fee without mentioning it to me. I noticed the charge on the paperwork after I reviewed the contract. I came back the next day and they hadnt cleaned the car. I complained to the manager and they said I needed to come back a few days later to get it detailed. I came back and waited 4 hours and they gave me the car back still dirty. I want my car detailed. They would not have sold that car putting it on the lot dirty. And I was charged for a detail that wasnt done.

I dropped off my Toyota Corolla Cross for body work after a car accident. They have had the car for a month as of the 12 and less than 7 days ago I checked on the car to see where we were in the process of the vehicles repair. They have not even ordered the parts needed much less seen the approval from the insurance company for the repair job. They told me it would only take about 30 days. I need my car and for the job to be finished in a(n) accelerated timely manner.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/18/2024

I am sorry for the delay in repair.  Some of the parts have been on back order and we were waiting to get these parts to finish the repair.  We will make this vehicle our first priority.

I called to request a ballpark estimate and other general information for key replacement and whether I would be required to order one or two new keys. Then when I brought my vehicle in for service on 1/30 I specifically asked what my out the door cost would be and was told ****. When the dealership notified me that my car was ready for pickup on 2/5, I received an email requesting approval for key service replacement in the amount of ********. Thinking there had been a billing mistake, I contacted the dealership to resolve the issue and they claimed that the charges were correct. They pushed me to come to the dealership during work hours and review a recording of my initial phone call, which they repeatedly referred to as proof of my agreement to services. The manager who reviewed video footage of my visit to drop off the car told me that audio from a camera was inaudible, so he was unable to confirm the **** quote given to me by the service associate. I negotiated a lower rate than the ~***** charges they surprised me with, but ultimately paid double the amount that I was originally quoted on 2/13 because I had no other choice since I needed my car. I paid ahead online and when I picked up my car, I found a physical copy of the original **** quote that they did not honor in the paperwork that they asked me to sign. From the day I dropped of my vehicle they were in possession of my car for two weeks and essentially held my car hostage over inflated charges. I would like a refund in the amount of *******, because that is the amount I paid over the quote I originally agreed to in the amount of ******** (************ = *******).

I have attached the phone calls between the customer and my service and parts department.  If you listen, the customer is clear it would take 2 keys at **** each (*****.  She also reiterated there was to be a programming charge.  I understand the communication could have been better and will refund all labor charged to reprogram the keys and vehicle.  I have reached out to the customer but have not made contact yet.

About two months ago my grandson called me wanting me to help him buy a car from savannah Toyota.he said all he needed was 2,000.00 down payment and he put the salesman on the phone to talk with me. I have had two strokes and what all he said did not make a lot of sense except he wanted 2,000.00 dollars and I guess I gave him my credit card number. I don’t remember anything above this until I got a tag in the mail and my husband learned that they had given my grandson a car and it was in my name. We went to savannah Toyota and talked to the credit manager ******* ******* and he was surprised that I had not signed a contract but they had put a car in my name anyway. My husband talked to ********** about resolving the situation since I had not signed a contract to buy a car. He said that the only thing that could be done was for the car to be returned to them and I would get my 2,000.00 dollars back. And they would just tear up the paperwork since I had not signed it anyway. Well, we turned the car back to them and asked for the refund. He said they had to check the car out before they could return the money. My husband had taken pictures of the car and there was no damage, he also had the person that picked up the car to sign a paper saying there was no damage to the car. Since we had not heard from them 3 days later my husband called *** ******* to ask about the 2 thousand dollars. He stated that they were not going to return the money. And achnowledged that there was nothing wrong with it but that since they had to go through so much trouble they would not return the money. They have committed fraud. I did not sign a contract and now they want to beat me out of 2 thousand and they got the car back in good condition. They have no right to keep my money since I didn’t sign and they are taking advantage of a 79 year old woman. Please help, I cannot afford to loose that money. Thanks

These customers committed fraud and we have a police report.  There was forged paperwork.  They had the car for a month, and we had titled the car.  We have a bailment agreement that allows us to recoup our losses, which are well above $2000 dollars.

October 3,2022.Repaired done to my 1999 Lexus rx 300was unsatisfactory. They throw away the timing belt cover, they did not put it back. This is very important. I paid the repair for $690.I afraid to travel the car because of what they did. They need to put back the cover if possible.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/16/2022

On October 3, 2022 Mr. ***** brought his 1999 lexus RX300 in for a drive belt concern. We found that the Harmonic balancer was coming apart and allowing the belts to shift and caused damage to the lower engine cover. The balancer also damaged the timing belt and wiring harness around the front of the engine. We replaced the harmonic balancer and drive belts and recommended the damaged covers and timing belt to be replaced also. The lower engine cover was damaged to the point it was not able to be reinstalled. These items were declined by the customer to be replaced at the time of service. We can certainly replace the lower cover that was damaged by the balancer the cost for this is $244.69 as a good will gesture to Mr. ***** we can replace this part for him at an internal price of $165.00. The parts will need to be ordered for this repair and could be here within 3 days.

Yesterday 10/17/2022 I went to Savannah Toyota to pick up the Toyota Corolla LE vin# ***************** that I ordered 2 weeks ago. When I was negotiating with the salesman, he explained to me that there were a market adjustment charge of $1,995 for the problem with the chips and low inventory, $995 for carpets, nitrogen for tires and windows tint and $648 for documents but he offered me an extended warranty. The extended warranty was 5 years or 60,000 and the powertrain and transmission, 7 years or 84,000 miles. I had another offer from Chatham Toyota for $1,200 less but the extended warranty was important to me because the transmission of these vehicles is CVT. After reviewing both offers, I decided to put a deposit on the vehicle at Savannah Toyota because the extended warranty made sense. When I went to pick up the car yesterday before signing the papers with finance, I sat down with my daughter, my uncle, and the salesman to discuss the details and make sure the extended warranty was included. The salesman explained everything to me and wrote in a piece of paper the explanation of the extended warranty in the same way we had agreed, so I went to finance to do the paperwork. When I finished with finance, the salesman went to the vehicle with us and when I was looking the paperwork I couldn't find the extended warranty papers. I asked him about it and he told me that it was already in the system and that I didn't have to worry. I asked him to give it to me in writing and he keep saying “I got you”. I insisted and went back inside to the dealer were the seller finally told me that the extended warranty was a lie. I talked to the manager and he told me that there is nothing he could do even when the salesman admitted multiple times that he offered me the extended warranty. I ask for the owner but the manager refuse to call him. I was deceived, lied and nobody did anything to help. If this is not a scam, I don’t know what it is.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Yesterday, a gentleman from Savannah Toyota call me and said they were going to give me the extended warranty. When he sent me the extended warranty papers, it was a contract with ******** (a third party Company) and not with Toyota. I refused to signed the contract because that is not what it was promised to me. I was promised an Extended Warranty with Toyota. The salesman clearly said that the extended warranty was with Toyota and it was already in the system and that is why I supposedly did not need anything in writing. He insisted that when the warranty is directly with Toyota, they do not have any document to provide the customer. When he said that, is when I realized that something was wrong and possibly I was being deceived. After insisting and walking towards the lobby of the dealership, it was when he tried to print some papers but he couldn't and had to admit to the sales manager that he had offered me the extended warranty. The manager did nothing to fix the matter and refused to call the owner. The gentleman who contacted me in an email told me "There is nothing in writing that a 7-year powertrain warranty from Toyota was promised".  Let me remind you that part of the scam was, to tell me that I didn't need anything in writing because the Toyota extended warranty automatically show up in the system and the salesman keep refusing to give me paperwork showing the Toyota extended warranty. If the warranty that he offered me had been with ********, I would have to sign an extended warranty contract. It was not a mistake, he knew he was lying to me about the warranty and when I keep asking for paperwork, he had no choice but to admit what he did. I don't want more or less than what was offered to me. The sole reason that I bought the car at Savannah Toyota , was for the Toyota extended warranty.

      Regards,

I purchased a LEMON from this Dealership! DO NOT purchase any expensive services from Savannah Toyota! December 23, 2021 I picked up my 2012 Highlander that costed me 8,000 to replace the engine. December 30 I was back to the Dealership due to a oil leak in that same engine. It has been a nightmare ever since. Every 2 weeks having to get a oil change/check. After 8 months of this I have requested to be refunded and refused by the manager ***** ******

We are replacing the engine of this vehicle.  On a side note this vehicle was not purchased here and the engine was obtained from an outside source.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/12/2022

The vehicle was taken to there shop to have the engine replaced. Purchasing the car from them was never a statement nor relevant to the complaint. The company charged 8,000 for replacement of a engine and provided a bad engine. Than proceeded to have me go back and forth with oil issues. Which was the entire purpose of the replacement. After waiting 8 month's to have corrected I requested a refund and was handled poorly by management. Which prompted me to reach out to Corporate and file a complaint. I'm grateful that now something is truly being done to address the gross negligence and am willing to work with them to make it right. I was asked to remove my reviews from multiple sites and did. Thanks for your assistance.
