I received a CT scan through SouthCoast Health on 1/19/23. I paid a $200 deposit for CT services provided on that day and arranged to pay (3) monthly installments on the balance not covered by health insurance. On 2/20/23, I received an email notice from SouthCoast that they had charged my credit card on file the amount of $101.00 as part of a payment plan (1 of 3 payments stated on the receipt) towards the balance of $303. On 3/17/23, I received a past due notice with a balance of 186.99 overdue. I knew the acct. was not past due because SouthCoast had already charged my credit card on 2/20 and subsequently charged another $101.00 to my credit card on 3/20/23 (payment 2 of 3). On 4/14/23, I received a collections notice from SouthCoast stating that my acct. was 56 days past due with a referral to collections. On 4/20/23, SouthCoast charged my credit card the final installment of $101.00 to fulfill the payment plan with a balance of $0 owed. I also sent SouthCoast $186.99 on 4/14/23 which I knew that I did not owe, however I did not want a fraudulent SouthCoast claim to affect my personal credit. SouthCoast is using fraudulent billing practices and is double billing customers for medical services. I want the money returned that I was falsely overcharged, an explanation of the double billing practices, and I would also request that BBB look into the fraudulent billing practices. I have the email SouthCoast receipts charged to my **** as well as the double-billed invoices from SouthCoast. Thank You

I am a military veteran and utilize the Veterans Administration Community Care Network for medical needs. My cardiologist, Dr. ******** sent a referral to ***** ******** for kidney evaluation due to heart medications that were prescribed. Since Dr. ******** sent the referral, it was my belief that a VA authorization covered the visit on 4/20/2022. Upon my visit I presented my VA card to verify my insurance through VA. They made copies and sent my to the visit. Dr. ******** sent me straight to labs to have blood drawn. I then started to receive bills from his Privia Medical group in the amount of $998 for the blood work. I contacted VA about the authorization for Dr. ********. They informed me that he was out of network and did not accept military veterans and only accepts private insurance. The VA has denied all claims from this provider leaving me with a $998 past due bill. Dr. ******** office should have immediately notified me at the front desk when they took my Veteran ID and made photo copies for insurance record for the visit. There seemed to be no follow up or accountability by the doctors listed. I feel that I was scammed for a medical bill that may impact my credit scores shortly because I can not pay. I want this bill to be removed as my responsibility by this provider (Dr. ********) due to his misinformation knowing that his office was no longer affiliated with the Veterans Administration.

The VA had an issue with Dr. ********** credentialing but has correted there system.  They are reprocessing all of this patients claims.  We would have been happy to have helped this patient and correct this issue if they patient had given us the chance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
