    January ****. Company promised top to bottom cleaning. Refused to go on top on house. Apparently damaged pipe causing leak, wall damage and inability to use heater.

    Chimney cleaning - was told they had to do an inspection. Explained I didn't need a $99 inspection because we had just had a home inspector look at it and they said it was fine. I just wanted a cleaning. He told me that they had to do an inspection to determine what type of cleaning was needed but that the tech would apply the $99 inspection fee to the cleaning. So I agreed. Appt was for **** on 10/23/23 showed up at 2:30. Technician was polite & told me he thought I could do a basic cleaning for $99 or a deep cleaning for $399 add cleaning chemical it would be $499. Agreed to the basic cleaning but he backtracked & said it wouldn't be safe because of a lot of soot buildup. So I agreed to the deep clean + chemical $499. Added the chemical because we were told with a deep clean, no chemical it would remove 75% but with the chemical it would remove 90% so we opted to add the chemical. When he finished I asked how much more clean it got after using the chemical and he said it wasn't a noticeable difference. I asked why and he said because usually they put the chemical on during the deep clean not after. I would think putting the chemical on after the deep clean versus with would be better but I am no expert. Then we come to payment. I am expecting $499 plus tax instead get billed $651. The technician tells me if doesn't collect for the inspection he has to pay it. I explained what I was told and he said I was wrong and that I owed for the cleaning and the inspection. I tried to call the office 4-5 times only to get vm. I went ahead and paid the tech so he could move on but wrote a note of disagreement on the invoice expecting to talk to somebody in the office and get a refund but then realized later he overcharged on sales tax too. Left a message for a manger to call me back -nothing yet. Technician was nice but this "companies" business practices and services are questionable. I am owed $122.06 & am left wondering if they even really did a deep clean on my chimney.

    Sept 20 Called for a $99 chimney cleaning service. Told me I needed a deep cleaning for $399 but also wanted to add on a repair for over $800. I denied the repair and just had them do the cleaning upon completion he added an inspection fee of $99 which was never discussed and also taxes for $45, I asked for an itemized receipt and was not given one I paid for the services as confrontation to the tech was a little uneasy. I called to file my complaint and to give my concerns that also he did not replace the front of my fireplace properly and was falling out of the wall , the woman began to argue with me and tell me that she could not give me to a supervisor they would have to call me back and then also the $45 is the correct amount for sales tax for Michigan. My final bill was $545 way too overpriced , and Im very dissatisfied. I should have done my research a little bit better and made sure I was actually calling the correct company. Which, unfortunately I did not to. I also dont understand how they can get away with charging double for sales tax. It seems that they are doing something illegal. Someone needs to put this company out of business.

    I found this company - A1 Chimney online and after reading reviews, went through with calling and setting up an appointment with them to do a thorough inspection of my chimney due to me being new in the home prior to use. They sent their workers to my home, but were not able to conduct an inspection due to a wasp issue. They had me pay for the service - over $100 - and told me once the issue was resolved, they would be back to conduct the inspection free of charge and noted so on the receipt. I was able to get the issue resolved fairly quickly, and called them immediately upon correcting the issue. They blew me off for weeks. I contacted the specific employee who came out and he told me to contact management. I kept calling, with promises of getting a returned call back from management. I had my partner call, and he was able to atleast get an appointment set up to have them come back out on 12/7/22 - over a month later. Today, 12/7/22, no one showed up. I called, and again they again, said a manager would contact me. A manager called my partner back, and guaranteed that someone would come tomorrow instead. I paid for a service that has not been rendered. I have wasted my time off of work waiting for them to come and never show up. I am beyond frustrated and would like a refund!

    Based on my experience with this company I would steer clear. Initially they were very prompt and came out to perform the service on schedule but from there things went array and the company has now completely ghosted me. I set up an appointment to have the structure of my chimney inspected and to repair some flashing that was loose both of which were identified in an inspection as part of the sale of my home. When the driver arrived he was gung ho on cleaning my chimney, both of them actually and it was clear he had no idea what he was supposed to be doing for me. The technician was very courteous but English was his second language so the communication between us was choppy but he assured me he would take care of it and provide all the necessary documentation that I required. 15 minutes later he is asking for $450 for the brick repair and work done. I asked about all of the documentation and he said that it would be sent later. This was not my first rodeo so I had him call the office to talk with someone and they assured me that the written summary of work provided as well as pictures would be provided. Reluctantly I accepted that and paid the technician. After receiving nothing I called the office to speak to a manager and of course they didnt let me speak with one but shortly after I did get a more detailed receipt but still not what I had explained was needed. Needless to say about 10 calls later and 10 days passed I have heard nothing. It is pretty disappointing to not even receive a call back from a manager. What I am asking for could not take more than a few minutes and was explained ahead of time but now that they have the money they could care less.
