Due to my experience with KBCMG I advise everyone to do your research on this company. The words accountability and communication should be included in all contracts. My experience with this company started 2/21 (closing day). KBCMG did not start the process of my application for building permits was until early 4/21 and permit was not approved until 6/21. Please keep in mind I "inherited" this company to manage my home build project but had to help with contacting the COT permitting dept on a daily basis to check on status of permit. I met with KBCMG 6/21 to discuss the building plan. KBCMG hired a foundation company who started the foundation job but did not complete the job so there was no progress from 6/21 thru 10/21. They finally found another foundation company. Foundation was completed 10/21.
KBCMG seem to have a hard time communicating with us they made many mistakes that could have been avoid if they were communicating with homeowners. We had to reach out to KBCMG to check on our project weekly. The KBCMG's "office manager" will not hesitate to give you an excuse for why your project can't move forward. Every week it was a different excuse and not much progress for weeks.
My home was tentatively scheduled to be completed 12/21 then that timeframe changed to February then to March and was finally completed in 4/22. I sent KBCMG my Blue Tape walk thru list 3/22 and as of 6/22 there are still unfinished items on the Blue Tape walk thru list.
This is just a fraction of my experience with this company.
I will tell you I received a beautiful home but my experience with this company was beyond stressful.

I wanted to comment here to my experience as well in building this home. We were faced with many challenges during the timeframe of building this house. We were experiencing Post Covid supply chain shortages, as well as labor shortages, and some things just unavailable to us altogether. Items such as windows, doors, trusses, and others were severely delayed. These were all items out of our control, but things that were always communicated. We also cannot be held responsible for the Permit office, and the time delays and challenges they also were experiencing. We did our best to communicate everything to you throughout the entire process. Most builders and subcontractors right now in my industry cannot even project timelines on labor and materials. not to mention the cost increases to my company. The cost increases were not passed onto you, and my company actually had to take a loss to finish your home. This is something that most would not even consider doing. This has caused myself and staff a great deal of stress as we work to keep our homeowners informed and understanding of what is happening.
As far as the punch list, I know that 98% of this list was accomplished very quickly after the Certificate of Occupancy. I think we are still waiting on some window screens, and some minor touch up work to the cabinets. Neither of these prevented you from occupying the home, and being able to take up residence in what you said yourself is a beautiful home.
We will continue to check on items for you that we are responsible for until they are completed.
