I hired this company online in Sept 2024 and was quoted a price of **. When they came to my house to deliver the cost was no 4K. Not only was the cost an issue they said they would not unload my stuff until I paid which is illegal to do. After all the items were unloaded I noticed an heirloom portrait was missing and no one seems to know what happened to it and are not willing to look into it, call the drivers or just look for it in their warehouses. Essentially to bad for you, we **** and get over it. After reading the issues on here and other ones online shame on me for not looking into them as a company. They absolutely **** in every aspect of the supposed business they claim to run and then call it "Handle with care". They do not do that nor are the customers that they serve important to them in any way. They take our money by force by holding the goods hostage until you pay and then if there is an issue to bad for you. They have your money and that is all that matters to them. I sincerely hope that I am able to get a resolution to the issue of the missing portrait, but in reality I sadly believe it is gone forever because they are not a professional company and only care about the money they make not the customers they serve. I hope they go out of business, they do not deserve to be in business of any kind.Initial Complaint

11/25/2024 -Handle with Care moved me from ************** Mo to ******** (*********) LA *****.They had my original contract for 286 cubic feet and 28 boxes at the price of $1623.00. The men they hired were disgruntled and complained about the wage. They asked for a tip, which I did not provide. A different crew (2 men) arrived in ********* on December 6th, 2024. They delivered less than 20 boxes, and only 10 pieces of my furniture were included, and insisted on an additional $1062.00. We refused to pay until we saw what was on the truck. We had law enforcement with us, which is probably the only reason my things were unloaded at all. I am a senior citizen and a widow, and my relatives felt it would be a good idea to involve the ********************* This was based on our reading of other complaints made on this site regarding this company. Once they agreed to unload, we saw all the belongings literally thrown on this truck along with a wall with other peoples belongings tossed up in a pile like trash. As they began to unload, every piece of furniture was damaged, plus I have an extensive list of things that they either stole or lost, TV, microwave, new box of pots and pans, all my flat ware. I didn't receive my dresser, bed frame, night stand, or large recliner. Boxes filled with my clothes, my orthopedic shoes, and my wedding rings, my deceased husband's wedding band and my pearls. I also had a large box filled with expensive wall art. They are agressive and once again the men that moved us complained they only got paid $100 for the day. Once the men were informed that the casually dressed men with me were law enforcement, they quickly agrred to unload the ******** contract was for $1623.00 I had made payments and paid what my contract required. All of this was in addition to several phone calls and emails with them stating that I had not paid the payments , which I then proved that they, in fact, were made. I would love to recoup some of my losses, if possible.Initial Complaint

I hired this company over the telephone. They originally quoted me approximately $2300 total for my move. A few days prior to my move, they stated that the estimate was off, and it would cost more. The price increased to $3054.23. Once they arrived on September 17 and started loading. They stopped halfway and said I had reached capacity. They said they could stop and take what they had so far or pay double the estimate. Then they pretended to negotiate and told me the total cost would be $5210.00 plus $500 tip. I asked for an October 3rd delivery date. I was contacted on October 26 that my things would be delivered on October 27. Upon arrival, I was told that there would be an additional $150 stair charge and a 10% tip on the balance ($168). As they began to unload, I noticed majority of my items were damaged and majority of the hardware was missing. I was told there was nothing they could do except leave the items. I was told that my inventory list was missing, and they had no documentation to provide me with. I was also missing a 55inch television and (2) dining room chairs from a set of 6. I was also missing power cords, tv feet, a foot from my desk and multiple sets of hardware. In total I paid $6020 ($1745 downpayment, $2233 pickup ($1733/$500 tip) and $2050 delivery ($1732/$150 stair charge/$168 tip.I am seeking compensation to pay for the hardware, assembly, and repair of my damaged items. The service and damages that occurred were from pure negligence.Initial Complaint

I was lied to regarding the estimate of this move. My items should not have taken up more than ***** cubic feet. I was charged for ***** cubic feet. Estimate 1 w/ My Move- 674cubic feet for $3,300. Estimate 2 w/ My move- ***** cubic feet for $5,660.00 Total actually paid- $5,997.32 You held my items hostage unless payment was made, even though I was actively communicating with you regarding the invoices being incorrect.I was lied to and was not informed that my items were put into storage. This was not authorized, I was informed my items would be loaded and moved immediately to my drop off location. The driver who delivered my items he did not have any DOT documentation. There was no weight ticket. He arrived later than what he said he would, with a budget rental truck. The "Interstate Bill of Lading Contract" I was forced to sign to receive my items is INCORRECT. Again, I was charged $7.00 per cubic feet when I should have been charged $6.00. Again a gratuity was added, it was NOT authorized. $729.60 of gratuity was added to my final payment making it $1,998.32. When I booked this move, I was informed a team of professionals would take apart and reassemble my items. This was not done. Per section 9 of my contract with My Move, I have a "binding to not exceed" and the total cost will not exceed the estimated amount I provided. This was not done.Per My Move contract I have a standard cargo protection up to $10,000 base on $0.60 per pound. Since the driver did not weigh my items I do not even have the ability to figure what my refund should be. This business used a 3rd party claim company called Moving Claims to issue a refund. They are offering $89.00 for the entire claim. No gratuity has been refunded. Refund was based on $0.60 per pound, but no weight was ever taken so this cannot be accurate. I have attempted calling and emailing to have this corrected and I have not received any response.Initial Complaint

The initial estimate for the move was $2,344, but the total amount I paid was $4,066. The move also took nearly a month, and the company withheld my belongings until I made payments, which were higher than the initial estimates at each step. They offered to expedite the move for a very high fee, and when I declined, they stopped responding to messages. The initial proposed payment after pickup was over $6,000, but the company eventually acknowledged billing issues and reduced it to $3,000. The mover at pickup stated that everything I had would fit within the prepaid amount, but the company later informed me that this was not the case, resulting in the overage. Had I not contested this and paid the bill as presented, I would have significantly overpaid. They later admitted making an error (likely intentionally) only after I made it very clear to them. At delivery, they again dramatically increased the fee and threatened not to deliver my goods unless I paid via ACH at the time of delivery. They destroyed a $2,000 couch - it is punctured and unusable, I am missing a 34-inch ** Computer Monitor, which I had packed in its original packaging. The value of this monitor is $400. This monitor was likely stolen during the move. Damaged Goods The frame of a large painting (24 x 36 inches) was damaged beyond repair, and the glass was shattered. Estimated value: ~$200 for the painting and frame. A wooden folding shelf was delivered broken and chipped. Estimated value: $50. A lamp was significantly damaged, with the metal twisted beyond repair and needing to be discarded. Value: $70. A wooden tie hanger was severely damaged during the move and had to be discarded. Estimated value: $25. A chest of drawers was scratched all over. Estimated repair value: replace, $300 Requesting a refund of $4,066 to compensate for lost items, misleading pricing & overpayment, delivery delay, failure to respond.Initial Complaint

I hired *************************** (DOT ******* FL) for a move, but they subcontracted the work to Handle ********* (DOT ******* GA) without informing me. The company increased the quoted price drastically after pickup, have been withholding my belongings for nearly two months, and demanded additional payments beyond the agreed amount. Communication has been terrible, with representatives often being uncooperative or rude and never calling back. Despite paying more than the original estimate, I still havent received my belongings or clear information on their whereabouts, even though I offered to pick up my stuff myself. At this point we are not sure if they have stolen our things or are only extorting us for more and more money. The company Handle with Care have multiple complains here in the BBB so I really hope you help us fight this. I only want my belongings and hopefully avoid this to happen to more people.Initial Complaint

In March, I contacted Top Moving Solutions who quoted $3,000 to move from *********** IL to ***********. They said 3-5 days for delivery with pickup on 5/25. During the weeks after, I kept asking what they needed for documentation. They changed delivery to 5-7 days adlnd nothing until two weeks until pickup they asked for a formal inventory. While theymentioned this before, I kept asking how they wanted it and no response. After going through a final inventory they jumped the price to nearly 6000. I was shocked at how far off their estimate was. Based on that, we slashed our belonging and they also kept changing when pickup date On 5/26 we had less items than estimate but they said that we were 1.5 times over the space allocation. I didn't go in the truck to measure and was at the discretion of the driver. Plus we were trying to get out of town to drive across the county. He then asked for $300 under the table to reduce the size of the load from 1.5 over to 1.0 over. I was shocked at this. We paid it as we had no other choice. They shoved items into stacks without care. One item my $1,300 3d printer, warped in a special box that said Fragile all over it. They put it on top of the stack but dropped it and just shoved it back up. Once the house was loaded we began the drive. The next day they called us and asked when we accept delivery. I said that afternoon or as soon a possible. I let them know about the concern with the handling of the equipment. Days went by and nothing. After 10 days, I found out that Top Moving Solutions subcontracted it out to a different company, Handle with Care moving when it was finally delivered it was much more money and cash only plus items were damaged and missing. We provided a full list of everything. They said it was up to arbitration. Today 7/26, they said they offer4d $79 for over 10k in lostdand damage. They calculated $.60 per pound. Even their weight is off. There are.kore details but this box isn't big enough.Initial Complaint

I scheduled my move with Guaranteed *** Lines for a total of $2620.82 ($1455.62 of which I paid in advance to schedule the move), Handle with Care arrived May 2th, by this time I was already back in ********** but had a coworker there to meet them, they got my furniture and then left saying they would be back at 11 pm to grab my boxes due to it starting to rain, they never showed up at 11 pm but instead called at 6 am the next day. On May 6th I got an invoice from Handle with care moving saying I suddenly owed $7,027.50 and that they wouldn't deliver my stuff until I paid this amount as per their invoice. An invoice they never gave me until 4 days after they got my stuff and which neither I nor my coworkers signed.Initial Complaint

This company was hired by other movers we were contracted with. Neither entity has been responsive or worked to resolve issues. Contracted amount does not match and payments were not applied as paid. Stuff showed up destroyed (multi-generational owned table and table top as example that is not replaceable). Containers for my other stuff are mostly broken. The higher value items in the shipment are mysteriously missing and absent from the truck. This is in addition to absolute garbage ability to get ahold of anyone, or when you do to get them to give any information or follow up. The method of payment email they had listed out four different entities to pay depending on method. The whole thing reeks of a scam but by time you realize that they have your stuff and hold it hostage.
