The business filed a claim to my insurance company using the wrong identification number. The insurance company returned the claim saying my insurance had lapsed. It hadn't lapsed. This caused the business to continually bill me for $191 after I had already paid them $85 and my insurance was supposed to pay all but $40 of the total of $271. When I called to inquire about the high bill, I gave them my insurance information and was told they entered the wrong ID number and would file again. By the time they filed, the insurance company said the claim was filed too late, and the business once again started sending me bills for the $191. I called the insurance company multiple times and they said they tried calling the business. I finally stopped calling everyone and showed up at the business last week, where I was told at first I should be mad at the insurance company and then that it was their fault but they would file it again. I received another bill today. The dispute is between the business and insurance, not me. But I have been paying in time, stress over this, and in the $45 that they owe me back, all of which are valuable. The business goes by two names: Eye Associates of Valdosta and its former name, Eye Associates of South Georgia, which is on my EOB.

Patient was told that we refiled a corrected claim and that as soon as we got it back we would take care of it, the balance would be wrote off and if she received another bill in the meantime to please call our office. The statement that she received yesterday was actually mailed out before her visit to the office last week.
