Alakai Mechanical suddenly sends me an invoice that was dated on 6/21/24 that tells me that I owe them a balance of $719.07 for invoice #******. No job description or anything and the bottom says the balance has been outstanding for ***** days. I then proceed to call them to find out what is going on because I did not receive any services from them this year. Only when I did call that it was explained to me that the bill is maybe related to a plumbing project that was done last year in May of 2023. They said they had a switchover to a new computer system recently and only then did they realize that they forgot to invoice me for a leaking shower valve that they replaced last year when they opened up my walls. *******, whom I spoke to, said the technician who did the work does not work for their company anymore and she had to verify that the work was done thru the ***** **** ****************** From them, ******* said she verified thru *****, our resident manager, that the shower valve was changed at that time and sent me a picture of a ***** pipe via email to verify the change. I did not receive any phone calls at the time to inform me of the valve leak or that anything was replaced at the time. Alakai mechanical is now asking me for payment and sends me a follow up invoice that does not reflect the right days of work. The invoice once again is dated 6/21/24 and states the guest bath shower valve was leaking and was changed on 7/15/24. I am completely confused at this invoice because it does not accurately reflect what I was told over the phone and that they are trying to invoice me a year plus later for what they claim was done last year. I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service provided by Alakai'i Mechanical Corporation on February 24, 2023. On that day, your technician came to my property located at **************** to investigate a problem with my water supply. However, I was charged $246.03 for a service that did not result in a resolution to the problem and no work was done.I would like to draw your attention to the fact that your technician only walked around the room and made calls and did not perform any significant work. The total time spent in my unit was around 30 minutes, and yet your company claimed that the technician spent two hours on the job. I believe that this is an unfair and deceptive practice, and it does not reflect well on your company's reputation.I would also like to bring to your attention that I have found similar complaints on the internet about fraudulent work hours and unethical billing practices by your company. It appears that other customers have also been charged excessive fees for services that were not performed or for work that took less time than was billed. This pattern of behavior is deeply concerning and unacceptable.I am particularly troubled by the fact that your technician did not communicate with me about the cost of the service beforehand, despite the fact that no work was actually done. I was only informed of the charge when I received the bill, which was an unpleasant surprise.In addition, I would like to reiterate that your technician damaged my faucet during the inspection, which was not repaired or replaced. This only adds to my dissatisfaction with the service provided by Alakai'i Mechanical Corporation.
