    Lack of Communication:We notified Happy Doors a month prior to vacating our rental property that we would be leaving. Despite multiple emails, calls, and even a maintenance request to capture their attention, we received no response until the actual day of moving out. This only happened after we managed to contact the property owner directly.We have faced continuous challenges in dealing with this company. They have been uncooperative and evasive. Specifically, while they did provide an itemized invoice, the charges are extraordinary and unjustified over $1000 for normal wear and tear including removing tape and cleaning chalk off the sidewalk, which seems unreasonable.Despite paying for a cleaning service before leaving, we were charged $750 for additional cleaning services, which is exorbitant and unjustified.Despite vacating the property, we have continued to pay rent for the last two months. We understand and respect the terms of our lease agreement, but we feel that the additional charges on top of the ongoing rent are excessive and unfair, given that we have been good tenants who paid rent on time and did not cause any issues.Throughout our tenancy and particularly during the move-out process, it was nearly impossible to reach anyone at Happy Doors. Calls to their customer service number often went unanswered.We were not provided with clear instructions for the key drop-off until after we had already left the island.I suspect that Happy Doors is running a scheme with various service companies to extort money from tenants through inflated and unnecessary charges. This has been extremely stressful, especially since we are no longer on the island and feel powerless to resolve the situation effectively.There are numerous negative reviews on ****** about this company, suggesting that our experience is not an isolated incident.I am requesting the Better Business Bureau's assistance in addressing and resolving these issues.

    MILITARY AND TENANTS BEWARE!1. HappyDoors pays for fake reviews on ******* Look at how generic and similar they all look. It is more expensive to fake reviews on other sites- look there.2. HappyDoors places nearly all routine maintenance costs on the tenant. Read their tenant handbook- you will see that you will be responsible almost everything (A/C servicing, pest control, etc)3. Happydoors charges homeowners a fixed price every month, meaning they take on as many homes as possible and cut costs by any means necessary.4. He doesnt hire kamaaina, instead hiring cheap labor in the ***********. All HappyDoors customer service/leasing employees are based in the *********** and provide terrible and frustrating customer service. Once they get you into a lease, they will ghost you whenever you need help.5. Their leases are predatory and unfair to the tenant. Everything in the lease is there to take advantage of you and keep your money. Be careful.6. When moving out, we left the house in better condition than when we moved in. They still kept $636 for cleaning costs and gave it to their friends cleaning business. Make sure you take photos before you move in or they WILL rip you off.7. ***********************, the owner, threatened to continue charging me rent and make me pay to find new tenants AFTER the lease had ended at the agreed date and I had surrendered the keys. He harassed my family for over three weeks before he agreed to comply with the original move-out agreement.8. *********************** and his company HappyDoors is predatory and takes advantage of the people of Hawaii and the Military. Because I stood up to his unfair and illegal business practices, he demanded my commanding officer's ******* information, threatening to call him. What a coward. Can you imagine the entitlement and ego to demand that?Before signing a HappyDoors lease, please keep looking for a little bit longer to find a home not managed by these scumbags.
