Wilfred had given us an invoice for the deductions he took out of our deposit and gave us a check for the balance. He forgot about an additional $300 that was added to our original deposit. After verifying that he did cash that check, he tried to add on more deductions but I told him I already have his receipt for the deductions and he cannot add new deductions now that he realizes there's more deposit to return. He agreed to mail us a check for the $300. Later he started calling and we played phone tag for awhile, so I texted him to leave me a message about why he's calling and I'll try to help. He chose not to leave a message and after he kept calling at a time when I told him I sleep early, I woke up to a text from him saying he is going to make additional deductions that are more fair and not to grumble because I refused to discuss it. Now, knowing why he's calling, I call him back several times and he doesn't answer the phone and his voice mail is full.

    Dear BBB,

There are several attachments showing what ************* said and what I said in texts:

     1)  Text #4 from my account shows I made (and sent) ************* a check for $300 on 12/21/2022. ************* cashed it on 12/27/2022.

2 ) Text #2 shows *************** text to me on 12/22/22 saying,  When I receive and cash the check i will inform all parties that this has been resolved.

    3) Text #3 shows *************** text to me on 1/4/23 saying,

         Aloha e Wilfred,

Yes, your check cleared. Thank you.

I have since tried to email and phone the BBB to update them that my complaint against you has been resolved.

          Happy New Year??

          Mahalo!

The texts below were written by me to ************* regarding my storage in the parking stall that was assigned to him with the apartment he rented. At the beginning of  tenancy, ************* demolished, took apart and shortened my storage without asking me if he could do it. That upset me so I wrote the below texts asking him to pay for what he did but he refused to pay. Therefore, now I am not looking to get payment from ************* for the damage that he did, I just want to settle this complaint and move on.

Text 1:  I texted ************* that: I want you to pay $150 for taking apart and shortening my storage. Please take responsibility for that. Don't you think you owe me something for that ? I never even asked me if you could cut it up? You think that's ok to do to the owner? No apologies for tearing it apart. Never had anyone do something like that to my property.

Text 5:  I told ************* in my text that: Nope it's smaller (the storage) and I didn't give you permission to break it apart did I ? You think you can do anything you want on someone else property? What the s*** is wrong with your brain ? Who gave you the right to touch my storage when you want to???? You don't own the place or don't you know about those things. You don't touch and tear apart things that are not yours. What the s*** is wrong with you??? You got some **** nerve so you pay for damaging and changing my property. You cannot see that you are in the wrong? Who the s*** you think you are?? Let's meet and talk about this cause it's really bothering me. You have no **** conscience of the s*** you do and say to people. You want to see the copy of the check of $475? No problem. If you had cleaned the unit you wouldn't have to pay either. You pay for rebuilding the or I can hire my maintenance guy to rebuild it and you pay for his work. Is that fair and honest to you? Tell me but you can't get away from putting it back to the original size. You man up ***? Trying to get away from your responsibilities again. The way you try to not owe up bugs me. Always trying to run away and not do what you supposed to do. Are you willing to pay only $150 or pay my *********? But I don't trust you to do it. Let me know.

I am rejecting this response because:I have never used the storage that Wilfred is mentioning. I didnt alter the storage. The storage was being taken apart by a person that Wilfred was allowing to sleep in the carport area. That storage was missing siding and boards, the framework was shoddy. Also this was 2 years ago.

Wilfred deducted $150 to replace a locket he never bought.

If he believed I did what he is accusing me of he would have sought to keep the entire $300.

SIde note: The person who did remodel that storage paid for all the materials and labor. It now has a sliding door and solid framework.. You can literally stand on it.

As I told Wilfred, any issues he has with the storage is with the person using it.

I was refunded the $300 and I consider this matter closed.

    Sincerely,
