I went through Expedia to book a car rental. Economy Rent-A-Car and A1 Rent-A-Car are the same company. Our shuttle aunty was very welcoming and filled with Aloha. Upon arrival we signed in and as we were waiting we overheard an upset tourist, we paid no mind to it as it was non of our business. I upgraded with a $90 charge. Maintenance light came on after I left and the engine light popped on after. I wasn’t upset because these things naturally happen. I went back and returned the car as directed by instructions and the man that returned the car asked me what happened and I said what happened and he “the cars are shitty ah” said $500 something would be returned to my card and if I wanted to look at other options I could. They gave me a nissian/toyota compact to choose from and after looking at the vehicles I instantly said no I just want out and was told by the young lady who helped us in the beginning to call the number on all the cars for my refund. I called and an old man answered and used discriminatory verbiage towards me and hung up on me. I have accepted that in my contract it states no refund. However, no tourist, local, human should be discriminated against. I am most concerned with Expedia and how they could even think about doing business with Economy Rent-A-Car and A1 Rent-A-Car. Due to this, I will reframe from using Expedia and Economy Rent-A-Car and A1 Rent-A-Car.
