    I took my pet into VERC for emergency care on 11/26/21. The tech that brought my animal out to my car indicated that I was overcharged for 2 medications. He told me they will refund my card in the amount of $131.43. I called VERC in the last 3 week approximately 5 times. Each time I was told the refund was made and take it up with my credit card company. Today, I reviewed my credit card statement and could not find a refund in the amount of $131.43. I spoke to another worker who indicated I was refunded the amount when they charged me only $551.21 for a visit on 11/28. I should have been charged $642.64. He indicated I was also refunded $40 at that time due to the over charge on 11/26/21. He told me that would be the complete refund i was owed on 11/26/21. I questioned him about being refunded the taxes I paid for the duplicate charge for 2 medications and he told me the prices reflect the taxes. I explained to him that my **** indicates a tax amount for my subtotal of er visit with the duplicated medication. He told me that is not correct. The medication cost has a tax included. How can I possibly be taxed twice for something?I find this practice unethical as I was owed my refund on the day the service was delivered on 11/26. No one got my permission to hold on to the overcharge to apply to my next ****. What would have happened if I didn't come back for care on 11/28. Now it makes me question whether or not the care my pet received on 11/26 was adequate or just a money maker so I would come back on 11/28 to receive additional services and then be refunded my money. I am now questioning the ethics of this practice and the quality of care my pet may not have received. It is very disturbing to think that providers would take advantage of pet owners in moments of crisis and emergency.
