I brought my car in to Midas for service on 8/17/24 to change oil, rotate tires, and align wheels. At the time I handed the keys to Midas there was no damage to my car. I have a witness and prior maintenance receipts from **** dealership to prove what condition my car was in at the time Midas took my keys. Upon leaving Midas I found a nail in my tire that was not there when I brought my car in. The damaged tired was purchased new in a set at the **** dealership when I purchased them with no damage from a s**** Also during the service visit I never saw them change the oil and that concerned me. I could not believe the issues i was having with Midas for Maintenance work until I saw similar complaints from the bbb database of complaints on them. I notified them right away of the problem they caused. Midas accused me of driving over the s**** as i left their business after work was completed. Red Flags - They never did a road test after work was done, Never gave me computer results of the wheel balance which is standard practice and I heard a noise from the tire and got an air pressure error from my car immediately as I backed out of Midas parking lot. Also again I never saw them change the oil (removal/refill). After all was said and done Midas decided to remove the s**** and plug the hole but I'm not satisfied with that I would like a full refund for the damage they caused and the inconvenience they caused.Business response

I brought my car in to get an alternator, belt, and battery replacement. I dropped the car off on Wednesday, 5/22, and picked it up Thursday, 5/23. Upon picking my car up, I noticed what appeared to be a smudge on the left corner of my car's display screen. When I got home, I realized it was a crack on the inside of the screen. I immediately called Midas to ask about it, and they told me they would discuss with management how to support the situation, arguing that no one had been in my car except to pull it in and out of the bay. Midas called me back the next day, Friday 5/24 to ask me to bring my car back in so they can take a closer look to figure out what happened. I brought my car in after work, they took a picture, and told me again they would speak with management on how to address it. On Tuesday, 5/28, they called me back and told me I would need to go to the dealership to get their opinion on what could have happened to my screen, and that we can go from there. I tried calling Midas back to ask to speak directly to management because I decided I am not going to ask the dealership what happened to my screen while my car was left at Midas. After calling twice to speak to the guy who worked on my car and him not being available, I finally just asked for the number to call the management that they had been referring to. They refused to give me a contact number, and instead insisted on giving my number to management so they can reach out to me. It has been over three weeks since getting my car back with the crack on the screen, and exactly two weeks since leaving my phone number for management to call me. I expect my cracked screen to be repaired!Business response

Midas Hawaii (Pearl **** shop) will not accept responsibility for this damage because we did not do it.
Customer was explained to take back to the dealer for inspection of damage. We have no liability in this case.

I am rejecting this response because:It is ridiculous to say they did not do the damage to my screen when I dropped my car off without the crack and picked it up with the crack. Midas was requiring me to bring my car to the dealership to get a diagnosis on what happened to the screen. The diagnosis would cost me $180 out of pocket that Midas said they would not reimburse me for. My car did NOT have a crack on the screen prior to dropping it off at Midas on Wednesday 5/22, and it DID have a crack on the screen when I picked it up on Thursday 5/23. Midas should be responsible for the repairs and the diagnosis if that is what they need to move forward with the repairs.
Sincerely,

I came here to get an oil change. The auto shop cross threaded my oil filter when doing the service. It caused it to break off and be a $400 cost to replace. I contacted the company with pictures and sent my carfax report and they did not respond.Business response

Business engages in false/misleading advertisements. Midas's website is offering a certificate/coupon for a series of services for $53.29. But when I click on the certificate offering, prices jump to either $86.24 for convectional oil or $126.49 for synthetic. The certificate of $53.29 opens to the new tab for the different/more expensive prices. On 8/30 around 5pm I contacted an employee to verify it's validity. Employee was unsure and said I had to talk to a manager. No managers were in, so the employee told me to come in person the following day which I did around 1:20pm. The employee I spoke to tried telling me it was their old website even though the website stipulates in been in service since **** - Present. The employee said because my car takes synesthetic, it's going to be the $126.49 price. He told me the $53.29 price doesn't apply. But convectional oil is cheaper and even that is $86.24. None of the pricing/advertisement discrepancies were explained to me at the shop, so I left. I called corporate who ended up hanging up on me twice. Again, they were unable to explain clearly why their website displayed $53.29 for a 5W30 oil change and the other services. This company engaged in false/misleading advertising to the public. Employees are unaware/unknowledge of their business promotions/practices and even tried lying to me about the promotion. All I want is a business to carry through on their advertised promises. Whether that's carrying through what's advertised or explain in MUCH better detail as to the discrepancies on their website is the proper thing to do as a business.Business response

These packages must be purchased online through paypal. Shops are unable to give these packages because it is through paypal only. I have reviewed Midashawaii.com and all the packages work? Screenshots are attached.

I am rejecting this response because:I know these packages are supposed to be purchased through PayPal. The website clearly stipulates that and the corporate employee told me that as well. Look at my attachments, the attachment does not reflect the displayed price of $53.29 when as a consumer, I click on it. I even added both certificates to the PayPal image I attached. Nothing is under $80.
Also, your attachment doesn't show the pacakage I am raising my complaint for. The certificate package I displayed states tire rotation, 5 quarts oil change with filter, brake inspection, and a safety check for $53.29. But when I click for that specific package, no such deal is displayed on the secondary link or through the paypal links.
You failed to address the issue at hand. False advertisements, misleading information, uneducated employees, and now the company has again, attempted to display false information by attaching images of the certificate that's not being originally discussed. Please be better, it's truly not hard.
Sincerely,

Is the business not going to uphold its advertised price of $53.29? I see the advertised price was taken down from the website. But I don't appreciate or put up with false advertisement practices. When can I expect to utilize the offer the website/business had displayed originally before changing their website? You're welcome for the information, but when do I get to sta thank you? How long does it take for Midas to do the right thing and uphold its self-directed advertisements?
Best,

The Midas owner based in ********** has alos been lying to me about the exchange of information. Staying my car only take da certain type of oil, stating they can't find the price and also saying my complaint is unfounded.
The issue still remains, even if someone wants to pi chase the $53.29 certificate, it's not able to be purchased by ANYONE. Why is the company not following through with advertised prices? Why do they not respond?

On May 16th I brought my car to Midas to have my exhaust fixed. The mechanic told me what was wrong with my car, and I told him to replace what needed to be replaced to make my car safe. I picked up my car and got half way home and it over heated. I called and they told me it had some oil leaks that the mechanic found but he never called me to inform me he found them and what I wanted to do about it. So he didn't fix the problem with the car. Then 8 days after I left midas my exhaust got really loud again and is now making new noises. So I spent $3,000.00 to have my car fixed and it was not fixed. They were supposed to replace a hose that the mechanic specifically told me he was going to need to replace it and all he did was put tape around it, he never replaced the part. The work was not done correctly and now because of them I still have a broken car and I am out the money I paid for the repairs. I now need to find a competent place to fix my car, I refuse to let Midas touch my car again. They are rude and unprofessional.Business response
