We reacted a storage unit from this company in August of 2022. They company owns A-1 Self Storage, ******************************* Storage. Our storage unit was at the Island Storage location. In early October our unit was burglarized. We lost over $1000 in tools. The units were supposed to be under 24 hr video surveillance but when they asked management the police said the video for the time period that our unit was broken into was not available. We immediately moved our things out of the unit and reported via email and phone call to the office that we would no longer be using the unit. That was October 3rd. We asked for a portion of our October payment back since we were unable to use the unit for that month. They refused. They have continued to draft our account for $57 both November and December. I have called REPEATEDLY and sent emails. They will not respond. I am asking that they refund the November and December draft and also stop drafting our account. I am attaching the emails between us in the last two months. I have also made over a dozen phone calls with no response.

I had a storage unit with Mini Best for several years. I called the company to let them know that I would be leaving the storage unit at the end of August. Heard no response because you had to leave it on a voice message. Then I sent a certified letter to the company but the post office said they that it was undeliverable because they never picked it up. Had my wife call from another number and act like I wanted to rent a unit and they called back and then I let them know that the unit was going to be empty as of August 30. Called them a few days before the 30th to let them know that the unit was empty and cleaned and how did they want to receive the key back. Was told to just put it in the inside the unit with lock. Pictures were taken to prove it was clean and empty before the 30th and lock and key left in the unit. Then in September noticed on our bank account that they took out a payment for September. I have called them several times they are not returning any calls. We have also contacted our bank. They owe us for that September payment and then a deposit and dont know how to get it back since theyre not returning any calls. Trying to see if you can help before taking them to small Claims court. We do have the certified letter unopened as proof and we do have records of transactions if needed. Thank you
