    We had an estimate on our roof back in March of $10300 for a steal roof and a $8500 estimate for shingles. We payed for $6283 for steel roof materials on march 12th, 2022 where we also signed the estimate agreement of $10,300 for a steal roof. June 2022 they started our steel roof. We didn't like the craftsmanship of the work and we addressed it and wanted it fixed. Contractor said he would waste more time and money trying to do fix his guys mistakes. Then said that he would have his guys shingle it on his time and money to make the job right. We verbally agreed upon deducting what we already paid for the steel and going through with the shingles estimate so we would pay the difference of the what we have already paid. He also took the steel I paid for out of my own pocket after taking it off the roof to then put shingles on. The day they did the roof a big storm came through and the roof was not properly secured and water damaged occur in numerous areas in the house. He would not have his insurance adjuster look at it and then proceeded to threathen us with more costs if we went down that road, We just wanted our roof water damaged addressed. We then lost communication with the contractor all together. After they finished shingling the roof we recieved a bill for $18181. If more details are needed please call ************

    To whom it may concern:

     

    In response to your letter dated August 8, 2022, we initially bid this job for $10,300.00 on March 12, 2022. The final bill was dated August 4, 2022 for $18,161.39. The difference was the changes in the work order from the initial bid. Those changes were all done with Ms. ******** approval. We believe all work was done in a professional and polite manner.

     

    As you can see the steel roof that we put on was part of the initial estimate which ****************** then wanted removed from the estimate and changed the roof materials used. We do not believe she should have any complaint as was done in a professional and timely manner.
