      I applied for a 1 bedroom apartment with Barker Apartments and was told I could reserve the apartment with a 500 dollar security deposit. I paid the deposit and later was denied the apartment after waiting over a week for them to verify info. I was told Tuesday 3/12 that my 500 dollar refund would be back in my account in 48/72 hours later. It is 3/18 I am writing this complaint and still no refund. I have found another place in the meantime and am unable to move in their or any other place due to them holding my 500 dollars hostage. When calling Barker Apartments to get my money back they have several times blown me off by saying they will call me back and never do.

      We started the process of the refund of the $500.00 to the individual after speaking with him on 3/12/24. The refund was first processed as a check refund. After speaking with him 3/18/24 and being told that he wanted the $500 back onto his card and not in the form of  a check, we changed the request to a refund to the card which was processed the same day on 3/18/24. The funds should be released to him by his bank within 3 to 5 business days. We spoke with him again 3/18/24 to let him know that the card refund had been processed on our end.
