I was given a referral to this company as I've had multiple automotive shops fail to figure out what was wrong with my vehicle. The other businesses at least were honest and stated an electrical problem is very hard to diagnose. This company was too quick to confirm the parts needed for my vehicle to fix and ensure this would get it back on the road. Even though it was an electrical issue, they stated I need to replace my alternator, relearn the acceleration pedal, and rewire my camshaft sensor. That costed me $1,198, which was mostly labor. After driving away, I made it 10 miles before all my sensors went off and I lost all power. I immediately called them and they stated they weren't sure but that was their diagnosis, but no guarantees. They offered to have it brought back in and can further run more tests and START WORKING ON THE ISSUES THEY INITIALLY THOUGHT. Quoted over another $1,000. I finally gave up and reached out for family assistance. My brother worked out an arrangement with the dealership I purchased the vehicle from, *****************. Within an hour, they confidently diagnosed the issue is a 5 volt wiring harness to PCM & 2 wires were corroded. This company missed the obvious issue and the alternator didn't need to be replaced. That was $550 alone. I was completely given misleading information and deserve a refund.

      Business response

      04/17/2023

I am very sorry to hear that ****************** was unhappy with our service. The vehicle was scheduled in to find out why it had no throttle response. This was confirmed and repaired. ****************** stated that the vehicle has no throttle response since his Intoxalock device and wiring was removed from the vehicle. Mr. ************;also stated that several components had been replaced in attempt to resolve this concern including camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, timing belt and water pump. We confirmed the concern while driving into the shop and we began testing by scanning the system for trouble codes.  We found several codes in the system including codes for the intake runner circuit, voltage circuit low and accelerator pedal sensor.  We then visually inspected the camshaft and crankshaft sensors to ensure wiring was not damaged and the connectors were tight. During this we discovered that the camshaft position sensor wiring connector had been replaced and it was wired incorrectly, which we repaired. We continued testing and discovered the *** valve to be faulty and required replacement.  We also noticed that the alternator made a whining noise and when it is plugged in it started to overheat.  We recommended to replace the alternator as it could cause a fire and/or damage other electrical components. The last thing anyone wants would be to have more wiring and electrical issues. These repairs were performed, original codes reset and vehicle road tested. Vehicle had great throttle response and none of the trouble codes returned. Vehicle was returned to *******************

After the vehicle was picked up, ****************** called and we were made aware that the engine light and traction lights had come on but that he was no longer having throttle issues. We got the vehicle back to us and found a code for bank 1 camshaft sensor which was not present previously. We diagnosed this code free of charge and found coolant in one of the *** connectors. The coolant was coming through a wiring harness that goes to the ***. We recommended replacing the wiring harness, rewiring the damaged circuit wires and cleaning out the *** wiring connector. He was quoted and declined repair. It sounds like the dealership was able to complete this exact repair to resolve the engine light issue and we are happy that he was able to get his problems resolved. We strive to provide the best service possible and certainly apologize if anything was not explained or communicated as well as it could have. All of the repairs we provided were to resolve the original complaint. We also diagnosed the secondary complaint free of charge but repairs were declined and then completed elsewhere. We value ****************** as a customer and hope this helps to alleviate any concerns he has. We are also happy to answer any further questions he may have. Thank you ****** for letting us know of your complaint and we are sorry that we did not meet expectations.
