    Business response

This product was purchased through a Dealer in the **. Rowe Electronics does not do business in the ** and does not conduct retail sales to Customers, but occasionally does work directly for technical support. Due to a known manufacturing issue with a defective serial number batch we offered to work directly with **************** even though the product was well beyond warranty terms. We are unsure why the Customer could not work with the original Retailer using conventional Warranty support protocol, nor do we know what the Retailer charged for the product, but the claim is in excess of MSRP. Warranty replacement does not include shipping and we are not liable for what the Customer paid for the product. We have been unable to respond in a timely manner to the incessant e-mail messages from *************** due to staffing issues and finally stopped trying. This situation needs to revert back to published warranty protocol and be returned to where it was purchased for a refund. (We will still honor the warranty exception) there it can be dealt with at a local level in the ** where it was sold. The Dealer can refund the Customer and we will happily refund the dealer. This is unfortunately an attempt at goodwill gone bad and we are remorseful. Direct interaction between end user and manufacturer can be difficult at best.

I am rejecting this response because:

business clearly knew I was in the ***
Plus, the dealer in the ** (Its a bike thing), still has multiple units from the same faulty batch which **** have failed to resolve with them also - at some considerable cost.

I would therefore like them to honour their pledge and send a new, fully functioning unit to me.

    Sincerely,

    *********************
