************************************************* (Aspen Dental)Billing for a service not provided is FRAUD...Billing for a service not provided to a person with a developmental disability (Autism) is Abuse.I had an implant placed successfully at this location by the owner, he's the only competent one in the building. When I had saved enough for the abutment and crown I came back. Scans were taken of this implant, it was sound. The surgeon uncovered it in May 2022, he used more force than I thought was needed, but what do I know? I've only had one, it hurt. After that heals I have a scan and it is determined that a custom abutment will be needed, it took two docs to place the scan body because it will not engage. I wait, am canceled twice, the long awaited day arrives on 6/21/22. An x-ray shows bone loss (in two weeks time), but a custom abutment and crown are supposedly placed. The tooth sticks straight out the side of my gum line and I'm sent home that way. In one day I'm in terrible pain, brought back in 2 days later. Only to discover that a custom abutment was never placed, I did think it was odd that it came from the standard office supply kept in a tackle box. It is removed, I come back in on 7/13/22 and they are again unable to place the scan body. This implant has been messed with so much that at this point any manipulation of it causes me pain for a few days after. I need to go back in for another scan, in the mean time my statement from my dental insurance comes in. I am charged $2,451.00 for a CUSTOM abutment and crown on 6/21/22. That was it. A perfectly good implant suddenly shows bone loss over a 2 week period after numerous jams, screws, jabs... a standard abutment and crown are placed, which HURTS. A fraud is committed... and these people actually think this is best practice. And when I asked to speak to corporate myself, they lied and gave me the wrong number. There are so many complaints about this company, why are they allowed to inflict this on the public?

I am refiling this complaint against Aspen Dental due to new information. I went to the ************ Aspen Dental office in March of 2021 due to burning mouth syndrome. They told me I needed a deep cleaning. In April of 2022, I was diagnosed by the VA with Trigeminal neuralgia, I am being treated with gabapetin. This disease was causing the burning mouth, not the plaque buildup on my gums as aspen dental told me.They use deceptive business practices to get me to get a deep cleaning.

I am rejecting this response because: it was a medical issue not a dental issue

when they charged me for a deep cleaning. I had my teeth cleaned twice a year,

for 27 years, my dentist never said I needed a deep cleaning. They also said

I had gum disease, I did not, it was a nerve disease in my mouth.

      Sincerely,

      *******************

On 12/16/2020 I went to Aspen Dental with a bad tooth that needed extraction. I was told they would also perform a teeth cleaning and exam for free. After this they extracted the bad tooth but said I need an implant and put in the peg for this. I was told to allow this to heal for 6 months and come back for the implant. First, no one contacted me after six months so I called and ask for an appointment for the implant. I was told that their scanner needed was not working. This went on for a few weeks and I was told they would contact me when it was fixed. They never contacted me and I never received the implant. The bad news is they had pre-charged me for all this work totaling $3469.00 with dental financing. I have called their billing department, who acknowledged that the work was not done, but have never reimbursed me.

I called and made an appointment at the local aspen dental agency and let them know my insurance. They had a dentist not authorized by my insurance to examine me on Aug 6, 2020. I have attempted to discuss this with them as they were aware of my dental insurance and chose to use someone not covered by my insurance. They are sending me bills and threatening collection efforts. They knew which dentist could have performed the service under my plan but chose not to and what me to pay for this even though they caused the insurance billing issue.
