On 4/10/24, we purchased a car, 2008 ****** Outback, from this Dealership from owner ***********************. He had stated the vehicle was in excellent working order and had full inspection from him and another repair shop he supposedly purchased the vehicle from. Upon driving the car home, the radiator immediately failed. Upon taking the car to the mechanic just a few weeks later, it was discovered that significant rust in the engine had been covered up with some sort of cheap synthetic paint. This was not disclosed to us and the amount of rust, per my mechanic, basically makes the car a lemon and I had to spend 3 times the amount on the repair and the transmission looks to be failing. I contacted *****, whos only report was to say "look at the contract you signed." It was a completely unprofessional scam.Business response

Im sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. Like I stated many times, being a 17 year old, high mileage vehicle I look over all my cars the best I can and had only driven your car 10 miles. I always offer anyone who purchases a car from us to get a prepurchase inspection and I always advise to purchase a third party warranty. I understand it was unfortunate the radiator failed with no warning after the as-is sale was completed which is why out of good faith I contributed to the cost and had my mechanic fix the issue. Your car does not have any rust that would be considered out of the ordinary for any old/ high mileage vehicle in a winter climate which is why I suggested getting a second opinion when you told me they said that.
Ultimately its been 2 months and with old, low price vehicles there is just so much unknown which is why I always advise someone to purchase a third party warranty and take to a mechanic of their choice prior to the sale.
