In July of 2021, we contacted American Pump to work on our irrigation well. that was not working well. American Pump came and decided we needed new bowls down our well. They put a new pump down the well. A few weeks later they put these new bowls down and there was a terrible rattle that had not been there before. They took the head back to work on it, They brought it back a week later and there was still a rattle. They took the head back once again and overhauled it yet again. The rattle never was resolved in the summer. We were unable to use the well. In the fall, the head was taken back to be worked on yet again. At the end of May 2022, it was brought back and still didn't work right. On 7th of July, they came back. They brought their own motor and we were able to run 50 pipe with 40 lbs of pressure . We needed 55 lbs of pressure with 108 pipe running. (Which we had previous to the pump going out). In September of 2021 we received a bill from American Pump. The bill was for $18,014.60. The bill was to just keep us informed about where we stood. The pump was still not working so we did not pay them for their services. In December of 2021, they sent us another bill. It was for $ 17, ******. Our partner sent then $6,500. We had been told that was not the correct amount, and to not worry about the bill until the spring when the snow went away, and they got the pump working. In September they called us and told us that they had an arbitrator to work this out with us. He told us he had been hired by the company to work this out and that he had "no dog in the fight". We later learned he was the head of the company. We explained our view of what happened, he said he would send us a copy of his opinion on what should happen. It never came. On the 30 of September they put a lean on our property for $13, 903.13. We have had several phone calls, emails, etc. We are unable to have good contact with them.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/20/2022

American Pump has made countless attempts to resolve Mr.****** concerns, and all efforts have been unsatisfactory per his expert opinion and self-proclaimed and extensive knowledge of the pump industry. We could go into a detailed explanation, line by line and refute Mr. ****** statement on all accounts, but will politely decline to continue to engage in what has been absorbing time and effort with no clear resolution, for well over a year.

Our response is short and simple:
      - the statement provided is an inaccurate account of the history of our interaction with ************** in most (if not all) regards,
      - we are a reputable company with over 40 years of industry experience,
      - we performed our job with skill and expertise,
      - we went above and beyond in an effort to confirm pump performance and expectations numerous times, and without a burden of cost to **************,
      - and after confirming (proving) performance and completion of work per our verbal agreements refuting his concerns, ************** to date, refuses to pay his bill.

We are empathetic to **************, his circumstances, and opinion, but are unable to bear the burden of his unpaid debts simply because he chooses not to pay.
