I sold my vehicle, a **** Audi with the following VIN # ***************** on 08/07/2023 to ************************* who resides in *****, ***** for $800.00 cash. My mom ********************** was a witness since I'm still a minor. The buyer ****** assured me that she would register the vehicle in her name with the *** at her earliest convenience. To my big shock and surprise, I received a Certified Letter from Nesmith Brothers Towing letting me know that they towed that vehicle, a **** Audi and that I owed money for the towing and storage charges. I went to their office within the next few days and signed a Release of Liability letter. I signed the letter on 08/22/2023. It was explained to me and I understood that once I sign this letter, I would no longer be responsible for that vehicle. I explained to them that I sold the vehicle and I am not the owner of the vehicle anymore. Their letter showed a balance of $391.55 that was due, but they way they explained it was that since I signed the Release of Liability, they would dispose of the vehicle and get money from that and pay off that balance. I did not get any more letters from Nesmith Brothers Towing. I did however get a letter from the ******************* **************************** few days ago and found out that Nesmith Brothers sent me to collections and now I owe $841.55 to the collection company. I am still a minor, and I am in ************ I should be focused on school work rather than worrying about my credit being destroyed. I haven't had the chance to start building my credit yet, but it's already being ruined over a vehicle that I sold and no longer own.I appreciate your help with getting this resolved.

On February 23rd Nesmith Towing was called out to pick up my 2017 **** Eacape due to front end damage from a car accident. When I went to take pictures of my car I was told I could not get inside I would only be able to take pictures of the car there would be no reason for this as its my vehicle, my insurance told me I would need to call Nesmith and release my car to insurance so they could send an adjuster out to look over the car give an estimate and they would be able to send out a tow truck company to pick up my car and take it to ****** collision repair shop. I called Nesmith a few weeks after the wreck to check on my car and they notified ONLY at that time that my car was repossessed by my lender and they didnt know why, I asked why I wasnt notified I was told they dont have to notify me of a repossession even though I was up to date on payment and I had not abandoned my Nesmith knew my insurance was working on getting another company out to pick up the car and would pay for all storage charges. I called my lender who told me they were notified by Nesmith my car was totaled and I had abandoned the car which neither was true. Nesmith has done things like this to people from what I hear from collision repair shops around the state they need to be held responsible I am now missing my wallet with Credit cards and SS cards along with an Apple Watch which was not in there when the company who auctions the cars went to pick it up but was in there when the wreck occurred. Thank you- *******************************
