$1000 deposit for vehicle still in production, not on the lot or customized in any way. Called to cancel for refund and deposit and are refusing. Doesn't state non refundable on the contract which is required. Haven't incurred any costs and car is still not on the lot that they could remove sale pending and sale prior to receiving. Are stating they have mandatory dealer "package" that they put on high demand vehicles "because they can". One of the items is a complete scam. Said they would have a sales manager call me back tomorrow on 5/9/24 but haven't. Said he's the only one there and really busy. Finding all other dealers I call the deposit is refundable with no issue. Especially since it's high demand they say they'll just sell it to someone else but they're refusing to even try. Can't get any response from them. Also disputing my credit card and will hit their social reviews to Try to get a resolution.

I think that Wills Toyota is playing a side hustle with its customers. When I ordered a new car I was asked for $500 deposit, which makes sense, provided that the car will be delivered within 3 to 4 months. It was an agreement that we had to sign. The deposit is non-refundable, of course. I had no issues with that since I could wait 3 to 4 months. However, 2 month into waiting we were notified that the production of the car was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, and the new production date was set up. We agreed to wait a little longer. After 5.5 months we decided that our wait time has expired, we needed to move out of state and we could not wait any longer. Therefore, we came to the dealership to cancel our car order. Nobody cared to provide the refund. The dealership did not fulfill their side of the agreement, and we have right to get our money back. Manager said that their promise was not a promise , but only a guess. In that case, I did not hear a but in the sentence. For example - you car will be delivered within 3 to 4 months, but it may take up to 12 months. In that case I would have not make a deposit, because I knew at that time I would not want to wait that long. This makes me think that the dealership makes a good amount of money just with this side hustle. I know for sure that they will sell the car within 1 day for more money than it costs, but while waiting for all all those cars why not make extra money? After we left the dealership our rep called and asked about what happened. He promised to call back, but we never heard from him again, which was not the first time since we placed our order. Maybe it happened because he was new at the job and did not know how to handle customers complains?
