    04/10/23 I hand-delivered to the office of Soprano Accounting & Tax Service *** an envelope containing my signed federal and state income tax returns that they prepared for me, and a personal check #**** for $375 fee that we agreed upon for the preparation and filing. Electronic filing was clearly indicated as the method of filing.04/12/23 Check posted 05/06/23 I emailed ********************************** "Hi *****. I don't yet see an electronic payment from my bank by the federal government regarding what I own for 2022 income tax. Do I need to follow up with anyone on this, or do I just wait for the withdrawal to occur? - ***"I received no response.06/06/23 I confirmed via the *** website that my return WASN'T received. I called ***** Soprano's number and no one answered. I then called ********************* who works for Soprano and I explained the issue. ***** said he'd have someone call me back. A woman, whose name I didn't write down, called me back and acknowledged they had similar issues with other returns, and that she'd look into mine.06/08/23 The *** correctly withdrew what I owed, $3,273, from my checking **********/03/23 I received an email notification from the *** (which about a week later I received via the U.S. ************ that I owe the *** $290.62 by 07/24/23, for "Failure to File" and "Failure to Pay" by the 04/15 deadline.07/13/23 I emailed ********************************** "I received the attached letter from the *** stating that I owe a penalty $290.62 due to late filing. Will your office pay the penalty on my behalf? I submitted on time to you the signed forms and the payment of your fees (refer to below email)."07/14/23 Having received no acknowledgement of my email, I called ***** at ************. He answered and said he did not yet read my email. Said he was working summer hours. Said he would call me back that afternoon.07/18/23 No response from *****. I called again today and he didn't answer. To avoid further *** fees I electronically paid the *** the $290.62
