I was seen in this office and they charged me $50 day of my service then my insurance paid them in full! But they never and will not refund me my $50!

********************************* was seen in our office on March 4, 2023 for an exam and one intraoral x-ray.  She was advised of the need for a root canal on tooth #5.  Upon discharge, patient was given a follow up appointment for June 23 2023 for a 90 minute root canal treatment, and a course of antibiotic therapy.

The patient was charged for her exam and x-ray totaling in the amount of $105.00 which would have been submitted to insurance.  We did collect a $50.00 deductible for the 2023 year as we do for all patients.  Insurance was submitted and did pay in full leaving her with a $50.00 credit at that time.  However, the patient did not show for her June 28th appointment and was charged a $35.00 failed appointment fee which automatically deducts electronically.  At this time the patient currently has a credit of $15.00 on her account that she has never called the office an made a request for.  Our office makes insurance or overpayment reimbursement when due, upon request.

With an established practice of more than 30 years,  we have thousands of patients and do not track or make calls to tell patients when they have credits.  Patients do receive EOB (explanation of benefits) from their insurance and have always called our office with any questions or concerns regarding billing, insurance, credits and or reimbursement.  However, anytime a patient contacts our office to request reimbursement for such, we have always done so with no problem.

I would like to point out, that we have not received a phone call from this patient, ever to cancel or reschedule her June 28, 2023 ninety minute appointment, nor any request for her reimbursement of insurance payment.

Barry Dental Clinic builds our patient relations on communication through trust and honesty, and we take great pride in this relationship with each and every patient.  At any time a patient may call or stop in if they have any billing or insurance questions.  Sadly, this patient has not communicated any concerns or questions to our office.

I hope this answers any questions regarding the "Disputed Amount of $50.00."  The patient may contact us at any time to request a reimbursement of her remaining credit of $15.00.  For any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our office.  We are here for our patients!
