We had Century City Bath do a complete bath remodel in June of 2022. Job was completed July 18th. We paid 14K because we purchased the tile, floor, vanity and shower door. My wife broke her ankle July 20th and we did not use that bathroom that is on the second floor for over a month. Once we starting using it we started noticing some quality issues. Water that collects on the shower pan curb does not drain into the shower and water sits around the shower drain after we shower. I texted the the business manager/partner and send pictures on August 31 and he never replied. I went back to the business website on October 6th and contact them that way regarding my original issue. I was told to send more pictures which I did along with other picture of here a crack by the shower had started. The crack is at a drywall joint that shows no tape was used. I was told somebody was going to get back to me and nobody did. I texted them again on November 1st with no rely again. I sent another text with new pictures of where grout by the shower drain was coming off by where water sit and does not drain the correct way. Again, no reply. Contact them again on January 5th and 9th and sent another picture where joint tape is separating from the wall. I finally was able to get the business manager/partner on the phone and all he said for me to contact the grout manufactures Laicrete and file a warranty claim and the he sees noting wrong on their part and refuses to even come over and see the issues himself. I don't understand how a business like this can get away from not honoring their labor warranty on their work.Business response

While we stand behind our work the products we install are not maintenance free. **************** was given a copy of the warranty and a copy of the maintenance guide upon completion of his project. There is nothing to suggest that there was an improper installation of the products in ******************** bathroom. The grout was properly installed and the drywall went through its own inspection process from ******************** town, which passed with flying colors. If **************** suspects there is some kind of defect with his grout, he has to follow the warranty steps listed on the warranty card we provided him to file a claim. However, the warranty does not include maintenance and if **************** wants us to take care of these issues he has to pay a service fee.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: The grout is only coming off in the area where the water puddles by the daring because the drain is higher then the floor tile. The cracking of the wall is due to the fact the NO tape was use on the joint. That is also NOT a product defect as much as poor workmanship. This bathroom is only 6 moths old and this issues started right away CCB neglected to response right away. The town inspection did not check for standard new drywall installation finishing but making sure the correct drywall was used on the shower are.
Sincerely,

The customer is incorrect. There were 6 inspections of his project, one of which was drywall (which passed) and the other was a final walkthrough (which also passed). If the customer wants to make a warranty claim he simply needs to follow the steps on the warranty card which we provided and was provided to himCustomer response

I am rejecting this response because: The pictures attached shows how much of a dip is around the drain where water puddles and does not drain properly causing the grout around it come off . How is the grout manufacture responsible for poor wardenship? Are you telling saying this this work is exactly a "professional" tile job you provide to all of your customer? Also, how is the lack of drywall tape NOT your responsibility?
Sincerely,

I filed an insurance claim on 10/11/21 due to black mold and water damage in my 2 full bathrooms. I hired Century City Baths on 12/09/21 to complete the work. Work started on 1/81/22 on both bathrooms and was told by *** 1 week tops, so I agreed to have the work start on the master bath also. No shower in 7 days. Ended up being ************************************************************** the 1st week. I expressed my certain on covering the carpet due to being new when I signed the contract on 12/09/21. I was told the carpet will be covered. I also explained to ***** in sales that this was an insurance claim and they will receive the remaining balance after I receive the check form the insurance company. I have been extremely traumatized by texts, just entire experience in general was very frustrating and extremely upsets me. How I was spoken, mistreated and terrible customer service from an owner of a business who has zero professional skills from the owner of the company, ***************************. I did not deserve a text saying harassed his crew and threatened a crew lead, I will happily put a lien on your house and *** you, on Jan, 30th. I apologized to *** when he did his final work thru, and I asked what I did to harass his crew and how I threatened is crew leads. His response was theyre foreign and dont get jokes, thats all. What?!? I have been extremely traumatized by that text since the day it was sent. I have texts calling me a nightmare, a lair, threatening to put a lien, to *** me if they dont get paid, receiving a notice of lien, Demanding that if no payment on this Friday lien will be posted and will immediately file for foreclosure, Im going to be sued. AND I have a text below from the salesman, ***** ADMITTING THAT *** DOES THREATH customers. I put a lot of time into this message, attaching texts, and other documentation. Is it legal to abuse someone that this? see attachments for more detailsBusiness response

There's not much to talk about here. The customer was a month late for final payment which was due the day the job was completed. The customer did a final walkthrough, signed a document confirming the job was completed and that she was satisfied with the work, then only after being threatened with a lien ended up paying a month later. Usually we would be more accommodating with customers who claim to have issues they need resolved, but unfortunately our history with this customer is not a good one. She attempted to have us buy her a hotel room because her shower took two days longer than expected, then threatened to not pay for the work in the middle of the project unless we gave in to her demands. She also reverse looked-up one of our crew supervisors home address and threatened to come to his house. We've received final payment, and upon clearance thereof we waive our right to lien. We just want to move on and assist our other customers.Customer response

We don't have anything else to add and the customer doesn't appear to be asking for any kind of remedy regardless. The customer is upset that she was threatened with a lien on her property over her unpaid final balance, which she signed completion documents for a month earlier (including her signature under the portion that there has been satisfactory delivery of all goods and services), as upsetting as she may find it, it's well within our right to do that. We gave her written notice of the intent to file a lien if we didn't receive payment within a specified period of time, once we received payment we delivered a lien waiver and we consider the case closed.

I am rejecting this response because:There has a known issue with the shower doors and tub drain and they have not been fixed. Since then Ive found that the one plug in the master bath sink does not work properly and ****** is aware of that. These items need to fixed regardless of anything I signed on the final walk, its noted on the paperwork. Work is 100% guaranteed, parts and labor. Please start working on getting resolved asap as its been almost a month. In regards to a how I have been mistreated and threatened for everything is showing the BBB the way your run your business and the way it made me feel has a customer. I was not worried that any of it would have happened but you should not taunt you customers and also have others do it for you. Please have the items fixed.
Sincerely,
