Funds to completely repair the 2013 town and country.

I bought a 2013 town and country van from this gentleman. He gave proof that work was done to at least to spark plugs and claimed it was in well working order I got half way home to see the check engine light came on in which it was for the transmission. He gave me 700 to in what was hopes that it would make it better here we are now 5 mechanics later to find that it needs a whole transmission rebuild and the engine needs completely serviced. All five mechanics have quoted that with the severity of the issues to make this a reliable vehicle and safe for the roads there is no way that this gentleman didn’t know about the severity of these issues and deleted codes long enough to sell it for the desired price. I confronted the gentleman and he has not responded after giving him choices to make it right for my children and I. I haven’t been able to drive the purchased van in 2 months.

DEAR BBB, DISPUTE RESOLUTION DEPARTMENT   dear sirs, madams, i have sold the van for the lady as usual (As is) like all used vehicle dealers do as a normal practice, the lady mentioned that the van does not work while she drove the van for few days and even came back driving the van to my shop to pickup what she claimed a not working van, and i believed her saying van have issues like any used vehicle, so i paid her back a $700 dollars in order to do the necessary repairs she choses to, and after few days she said she made the repairs needed to be done but not happy with the results and needed me to give her more money to rebuild the transmission and i told her i will not give you anymore money, that when she started calling me (not a man) among other thoughts she believe to her favor, and started giving me options and threatening with lawyers,  that is when i stopped answering the lady  knowing i did the correct thing by not escalating and by giving her a choice of repairing the vehicle as she wishes and $700 in cash, and in my opinion that she chosen the repairs she decided no herself and i am not going to be responsible for her wrong or correct choices , what else i would have done when i sold a 2013 van with 179000 miles approx. for tax and transfer a plate and title, all included at out the door for only $4400 and from that 4400 i paid $281 in state tax and $180 for plate transfer and doc fees of $139, like the van was sold to my pocket an amount of $3939, i believe in my judgment that i did help the lady but i think she is surrounded by unhelpful advisers that led her to ask for more repair money

     Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. I bought the van for more than it’s worth per KBB. I asked this man if it had any other issues but when confronting him that he knew that the van had all these issues and HE KNEW is when he stopped responding to me and if it can’t be resolved as soon as I have a vehicle to drive I’ll go file small claims court. Why does one sell a vehicle to a single mother of special needs children KNOWING that it has extensive issues?! looking back I now know why he said when your done this this car it’ll be a 10,000$ car…. Had he been honest about the problems with this van I WOULD NEVER had bought it. This van hasn’t been able to be driven and when I went to get that $700 it was a RISK. It could hardly shift just to get over 50 MPH. By the way his mechanic ripped him off ??????? there still a cylinder one misfire that they claimed they fixed.
