May 29,2023; After I finished my meal, a slender woman with dark hair, came by to take payment at the table and said, "cash or credit?" I gave her my credit card and she returned it to me- not saying a word, not even Thank you. I tossed the receipt into my bag. On 5/31 I emptied my bag, where I reviewed the receipt- there was a 4% credit card charge listed. I called the restaurant and spoke to an older man. He said, "There is a sign at the register, and everyone charges a fee." I responded," I did not pay at the register, I paid at the table, and the person never mentioned a fee- otherwise I would have paid cash." His response was," I'll tell her for next time." There were several signs regarding the hours for Memorial Day, tapped to the front doors, but a credit card fee sign is ONLY at the register, and NOT mentioned during my credit card transaction. I would appreciate the credit card fee of .68 cents to be credited to my discover card due to the lack of information given to me by the restaurant employees.
