My car was repossessed by Reliable Repo in **********, **. Prior to scheduling an appointment to retrieve my personal property from the vehicle I contacted reliable repo and *********** Auto Finance. I was informed that I needed to go online to schedule an appointment. I scheduled an appointment for June 19, 2024 at 11 am. I drove 2.5 hours to pick up my property. Upon inspection of the garbage bag (they removed my property) that had my property I noticed that my 5 bottles of cologne was missing. The yard manager approached me as I was going through the bag and asked if anything was wrong. I replied that my cologne was missing, in response he said that they dont store liquid and the car was gone and it was in the car. I called the main number for Reliable and after being placed on hold the lady returned and said they dont store liquid. I then called *********** who agreed that I should have received All my property. A email was sent to the department that handles these situations and she suggested that I file a police report. She also called the auction where the car had been moved and they stated that nothing was left in the car and all items are removed prior to being delivered. I was then connected to the office of the president which was closed due to the holiday. I was informed to call on the 20th to escalate my complaint. I called reliable main office number again to ask about my property because legislatively I have the right to claim all my property. During this call the lady stated that my property had been thrown away, which was totally different than what was stated prior. I asked for the written policy that states they dont store liquid and she said they dont have a written policy. I then asked for the contact information at which time she became belligerent and hung up. I will be calling the office of the President at *********** tomorrow as well as filing a police report. Company policy does not override legislation and these acts are criminal.
