    H32353431***734363534H Abode did a showing of unit #*** at ******************************** on 04/06/2023. They requested that the first months rent deposit of $500 and the application fee of $50 to cover the background and credit check. I sent both of these over via Zelle as requested. The application was approved on 04/11/2023. After being approved for the application on 04/11/2023 I googled the landlord ************************** and discovered that there are multiple reviews of tenants reporting that the building has roaches. At no point was this disclosed during the showing that the building had an ongoing pest problem. On 4/11/2023 I reached out to H32353431***734363534H Abode and was instructed to reach out to the landlord about how they're addressing the issue. H32353431***734363534H Abode knew that the building had an ongoing ***** problem and did not disclose that during the showing. I believe that they're showing these apartments without disclosing because they know if a tenant gets approved they will refuse to refund the deposit. It's "easy money" with little to no work. When I toured the place, submitted my application, and put down the deposit it was under the reasonable assumption that the building did not have pest problems. Upon discovery of a building infestation any reasonable person would refuse to sign the lease. I believe that H32353431***734363534H Abode is showing units in bad faith and I would like my deposit back if possible.

    May 12th, 2022 - Deposit for housing not refunded as promised. On May 12th I applied to rent an apartment with the other party, I was told that I needed to Zelle over $500 to hold my spot and if I didnt get the apartment the money would be returned. However the apartment was rented days ago and I never got my money back. So I called three times on May 20th, I spoke to the entire processing department - none of them informed me of the full terms of the deposit and they all blamed the leasing agent for not reaching out to me. When I called the leasing agent to see if he could push and get my money back to me; he was shocked to hear that money hadnt been returned automatically and claimed he would go to the office today (05/20/22 and would call me at noon). He didnt call so I called him, he said he would call back in 15 minutes when he got to the office so I waited an hour and called him again and left a voicemail, then called the office directly. The woman I may have yelled at yesterday, claimed she sent the money right to my phone but Zelle is instant if she sent it I would have gotten a text and I didnt. In the time theyve held my $500 a chance to buy a house has arisen and quite frankly, if I miss out on this house I will seek a legal remedy, but Im trying to be nice. Ive gone as high ** in the office as I can but their CFO works from home and apparently in a different time zone, AND her number and email arent even listed on the website. So. Im seeing if yall can save my $500 and save me from having to hire a lawyer and have to *** for even more to make the loss of housing and false advertising as well as breech if contract dont go unaddressed in this horribly run organization. I tried telling them to hire someone that makes sure the departments are all working together, and to clean up their lines of communication, but Im just a customer they ****** over, so they didnt listen to me.
