Subject: Complaint Against G2 - Unfair Review Rejection Practices Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a complaint against G2 regarding their unfair review rejection practices. Despite providing legitimate and detailed reviews, my submissions have been consistently rejected by G2. Here are the details of my situation:Background:Invitations to Review: I have received multiple invitations from G2 to write reviews.Rejected Reviews: Out of the 11 reviews I have submitted, all of which were for products and services that I have genuinely used and paid for, every single one has been rejected. These reviews were detailed and included screenshots as proof of my usage.Unpaid Reviews: I have noticed that unpaid reviews are accepted without any issues, indicating a bias towards unpaid submissions.Concerns:Lack of Transparency: G2 has not provided clear reasons for rejecting my reviews despite them being legitimate and well-documented.Discriminatory Practices: The consistent rejection of paid reviews while accepting unpaid ones suggests that G2 is only interested in obtaining free value from users, which is unfair and unethical.Impact on Credibility: This practice not only affects the credibility of G2 as a review platform but also undermines the effort and honesty of genuine users like myself.Desired Resolution:Review Acceptance: I request that G2 re-evaluate and accept my legitimate reviews that have been previously rejected.Clear Communication: G2 should provide clear and specific reasons for any review rejections to ensure transparency and fairness.Policy Revision: G2 should revise their review acceptance policies to eliminate any bias against paid reviews and ensure fair treatment for all users.I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope for a prompt resolution. I believe that addressing this issue will not only help me but also benefit many other users who may be facing similar challenges.Sincerely,AnandInitial Complaint

They sent me an offer to receive a $25 for reviewing a software I use. there was no mention of a limitation to the number of responses they would accept. I completed the review as requested, however I then received an email thanking me for my review but stating that I did not qualify for the gift card as "Unfortunately, your review was not one of the first we received and is therefore not eligible for a gift card"Applying arbitrary conditions on the offer after the fact is deceitful and probably illegal.Initial Complaint

I received multiple emails to write a software review with incentives to complete them - I did and have not received them. I have called, left voicemails and emailed their support with no response. Looking on your BBB website, there are lots of other similar complaints.Initial Complaint

I was invited by a software vendor that we use to post a review at G2. I spent about an hour writing a beautiful review. I was denied for the reason they could not verify that I use the software. The funny thing is they ask you what they want you to upload for proof. I did that and I am a legitimate customer. So, if they are not asking for the right proof, that is their issue. I sent what was asked. The problem however is the fact that I contacted their support and they refused to help us identify the problem with the review.Like other complainants have stated, there is an agenda at work and this company should be investigated.Initial Complaint

Ive received constant emails stating I would receive $10 Amazon gift cards to review certain softwares I use. ********, I took my time to review two of the many products that I use every single day. My reviews were very long, in depth, and professional. A few days later, I logged back in to check the status of my reviews to find that both stated they were not approved. It also stated I should check my email for more information, however, I never did receive an email. If I hadnt checked the site I would have never realized that my very long and in depth reviews werent approved. Im assuming this company isnt looking for good, truthful reviews- theyre only accepting the reviews that align with their agenda. *** noticed multiple others complaining about this exact same issue.Business response

Hi Jaiden.
Unfortunately, our moderation team was unable to approve your reviews because they could not confirm the company where youve used the softwares. In order to validate your reviews, we need an active and up-to-date LinkedIn profile and/or a valid business email address that redirects to your official company website, when opened. This verification process is used to confirm your professional information and use of the product. It would be very helpful if you could edit this information and the moderation team will review it again within 3 business days.
Thanks!Customer response

I was promised a $25 gift card to Amazon in exchange for my review of iCIMS. I provided the review and the review was accepted and published. G2 never sent the gift card. I reached out to them and they said there was never a gift card promised and they asked me to send them a picture showing where a gift card was offered. I sent the picture and they have not responded to me.Business response

I followed the link in our accounting software to review it from G2. That was my first and original review. However the company stated that it was not the first one and refused my gift card.I am demanding G2 to review my case again. If the company still insists that it is not original, I am requesting G2 to remove all my account, information, review submitted, and everything related out of your system. I shall not give G2 any authorization to use that information and shall take legal action if there are any further email sending to my business mailbox.Business response

I received an invitation to fill out a G2 survey for Smartsheet on February 23, 2023. The contents of the email were:"Thank you for being a valuable Smartsheet customer! Your opinion is important to us, so were inviting you to review your experience with Smartsheet on G2. We will send reviewers a $50 Amazon gift card as a thank you for an honest, detailed, and complete reviewwhich will help others discover and learn about Smartsheet. Please note: In order to qualify for the gift card you must submit your review by clicking the link in this email."There were no mentions of gift card limits or deadlines to fill out the survey and receive a gift card. I then spent a decent amount of time filling out the survey (with detailed feedback) on March 22, 2023.On March 24, 2023, I received this email: "Unfortunately, your review was not one of the first we received and is therefore not eligible for a gift card. We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review and hope you keep an eye out for future review opportunities!"I don't know what agreement exists between G2 and Smartsheet, but I found this business practice misleading and deceitful. The initial messaging guaranteed a gift card if you filled out a survey, but it was only once I provided my feedback that I was notified that there were no gift cards yet. If the gift card limit had been hit, then why wouldn't that notification go out before others filled out the survey? To rectify this situation, I believe that I should receive the $50 that was initially promised.Business response
