Avoid M1 Finance at all costs! My experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. First, they had no idea why my ACH transfer was stuck in limbo for over a week. Then, they suddenly blamed it on a vendor outage without any real explanation. When I attempted to pull my money out, they did nothing but stall, misquote policies, and delay the process without justification. They referenced anti-money laundering regulations that dont apply to in-kind security transfersjust another excuse to keep my funds locked up. Despite my repeated attempts to get clarity and move forward, they refused to act and kept citing arbitrary rules.Their so-called "client success" team is completely ineffective, constantly escalating cases but never actually resolving them. I suggest you look at their ***** record before opening any account with them.

Terrible customer service, complete lack of empathy when 800$ was taken out of my account.

I went into M1 with $5000 in 2021 but never invested it. I realized that they had no simple money market investments without fee structures so I left the money sitting in the entry point. For the last 3 years M1 had been earning interest off of my money but not paying a ***** to me and then started charging fees on it. And as I'm now trying to **** transfer my funds out they want another $200. This company is setup to milk their clients dry with fees and they could care less about their clients retirement portfolios. I wrote in to discuss the matter with various support **** and only received back information that I should have read the terms and conditions. Any company that hides fees in the fine print but lures you in with advertising that never discusses these fee structures in an up front manner is not a trustworthy business.

****************. Hidden fees. No way of paying the hidden fees other than out of your account. So if you have a **** *** you lose out on that contribution. Would not work with me. Can't find way to close your accounts. ***** from customers. Won't allow you to move part of your portfolio to cash. Makes it so you can only trade in two windows. Price don't match the normal market. The *** should look in to them for fraud and taking advantage of customers.

This company stole my portfolio. And then made up all these fees. Also they were not concerned when ** told them about my identity being compromised It's a horrible company they need to shut this down? I really give it no stars. I hope they can shut this platform down don't do it if you're thinking about investing because they will get you.

Horrible Broker! M1s stock numbers never match the markets stock nulbers (theyll show you that youre ************** lost 2% on the day when the market shows Apple gained 2% on the day). Its nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. Most recently I finally got someone on the phone who was an M1 trading expert and when I asked for a breakdown of why my numbers were off the expert said its hard to explain on the phone but they can send an article. After being frustrated but agreeing to receive the article because I wasnt getting anywhere I in fact never received that article. Seems like this company is stealing money from investors and dodging customer calls as best as they can. I dont know how they are allowed to conduct business.

I signed up for an account and was not given any type of promotion to do so. Quietly in the background M1 changed their platform so that if you liquidate or even transfer your holdings, they charge a $100 "transfer fee" a.k.a. steal $100 from you. Per the non-english speaking help, this is a "disclosed non-avoidable fee". When I called to make any inquiries about this account I end up with the phone number blocked. They have blocked 5 different numbers from I have called from.

I signed up for a brokerage account with ********************** on 1/13/24 through a referral from a friend. In the promotion it was to deposit $10,000 for 30 days to receive a $250 bonus. I deposited $10,000 on 1/15/24 and held it in the account for over 30 days. I didn't receive the bonus and followed up multiple times on 3/11/24, 3/28/24, 4/1/24, until they ultimately said they deemed me ineligible to receive the promotion stating that I didn't sign up through a referral link. However, I referred someone myself and received the bonus, but not for my own sign up bonus. In their "refer and earn" section, it didnt show the referral that I submitted. I believe they are not tracking the promotions correctly and claiming that people like myself did not sign up through a referral so they dont pay out the bonuses. Don't keep your money with M1

I hate with passion M1 UI. I had a regular account with them that was doing really well, and it's only because I bought during the Covid dip. I decided to bring in my **** I put in a Buy for only $50K with the intention to buy gradually over time the rest. Turned out they opened my *** with the Auto-Invest feature turned out without giving any warning!! This thing bought my WHOLE *** ACCOUNT, NOT JUST $50k. NOW A MONTH LATER I'M DOWN $10K!!! I'M SEEING RED, LITERALLY! OH AND TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT THEY CHARGE YOU!! STAY AWAY, THE MOST BS UI THAT CAN COST YOU!

The company is fine until you do anything even slightly outside of the ordinary that requires customer support.- If you signed up for a free account, expect to be moved to a paid account without your consent.- If you are trying to withdraw funds, expect 2+ weeks and a support ticket.- If you are trying to transfer to another brokerage, expect 2 weeks and $200 in fees.It is currently April 6th as I write this, and I received an email only a few hours ago that they are amending my tax forms. The tax deadline is 9 days away. It feels like this happens every single year. Absolutely unacceptable that they are allowed to operate like this, someone please audit them.
