I AM NOT LIABLE FOR THIS DEBT WITH TRANSFORM CREDIT **** I DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACT WITH TRANSFORM CREDIT *** THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ME WITH THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT AS I REQUESTEDBusiness Response
Date: 07/03/2023
Hi *****,
Thank you for getting in touch with us via the Better Business Bureau. I understand that you're concerned a debt is in your name which you state you're not liable for. I have reviewed your concerns with my findings detailed below;
Firstly, I would like to reassure you that there is no active loan in place and you do not owe any monies to Transform Credit.
We received an application in your name for a loan amount of $5000. This is not the first time we've received an application under these details, with the first going back to September 2022. However, the application has never progressed any further than the basic stages. However, as part of our application process we conduct a credit check to verify our applicants details which is the reason you're seeing an enquiry on your credit file.
If it was not you who made this application, we ask that you contact us directly at ********************************* so we can take the appropriate actions.
Regards,
Dan

Company charged me $5 and created an account for me when I never signed up for it. There is no option to close my account and it says they're going to keep charging me $5 a month.Business Response

Dear *****,
Thank you for getting in touch with us via the Better Business Bureau. I understand that youre concerned that you have been charged for something you did not sign up for. I have investigated your concerns with my findings detailed below;
Firstly, I would like to note that I can see youve contacted us directly alongside raising this complaint and have had your concerns addressed by one of my colleagues but I will reiterate what was explained for the purpose of complete clarity.
Its important to clarify that we offer two different products; loans up to $7000 with a co-signer and CreditBuilder which is a small loan that is held on our customer's behalf where customers make monthly interest payments, building up their credit score.
CreditBuilder is offered to everyone that applies for a loan with us, and our customers will have the choice to sign up or not as part of the application process. I can see that when you made an application for a $3000 loan with us on 26th June 2023, you also reached the page where the CreditBuilder product was explained and offered, you chose to sign up when you clicked ok, set up my account.
After signing up, we immediately sent you a Welcome to Transform CreditBuilder! email, confirming your account, and further explaining the benefits of the product you had opted into. I can see this was sent to you at 09:31:10 AM on the 26th June 2023, to ********************* The email also provided you with your login link, so you could access your account and manage/cancel it, at any time, even before the first payment.
When you signed up for CreditBuilder, you took the first step in building your score. Each month you paid $5 we reported those payments to the Credit Bureaus as interest against the loan that has been held on your behalf. These successful payments have been building up your credit history, helping to improve your score. The great thing about CreditBuilder is that if you decide to cancel/stop paying, CreditBuilder is simply marked as paid in full and so missed payments can never undo the positive impact that your on-time payments have been making on your credit score. Therefore, CreditBuilder is a fantastic stepping stone towards seeing the benefits of an improving credit score, without the responsibility of taking on a big financial commitment.
I can confirm that your Credit Builder account has already been canceled and no further payments will be debited. Please note it can take up to 45 days for your account to reflect as settled on your credit file.
I hope I have been able to demonstrate that we acted in line with your instructions and have acted with the best intentions to help you and therefore, can not uphold your complaint but should you have any other questions, please let me know.
Kind regards,
***

Your payment was collected from the bank details you provided as part of the sign-up. The "Your Credit Builder Account" email reminded you that your monthly interest payment of $5 was due the next day. It provided you again with your login link, should you believe you no longer needed the product and prefer to cancel it before the next payment.

I have not applied for credit from this company. This business refuses to let me speak to a human to remove a fraudulent line of credit for $1000 from my credit report. They made me leave a voicemail when I called them the first time, then started texting me to approve yet another fraudulent loan. To try to approve yet another loan when I tell them the original loan is fraudulent is not appropriate customer service. Someone posing as a human also texted me, telling me to call them to get the fraud cleared up, but when I call them, their automated system hangs up on me without giving me any options.Business Response

Hi ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us via the Better Business Bureau. I understand that you're concerned a loan application has been made to us using your details.
I have reviewed your concerns and can see that you've been in contact with us directly and had your concerns addressed and resolved my colleague, for the purpose of clarity however, I will reiterate here.
Firstly, thank you for bringing this to our attention, I would like to assure you that at Transform Credit, we take fraud very seriously. We understand that fraudulent loan applications not only impact the person whose details were used but also our business itself. We consider both the individual and our organization to be victims of such unfortunate incidents.
Safeguarding our customers and maintaining the integrity of our operations are of utmost importance to us. We are committed to investigating this matter thoroughly and taking appropriate measures to prevent any recurrence in the future. We want to highlight that at Transform Credit, a loan application is created only when a consumer applies and electronically signs with their details through our Transform Credit website. However, rest assured that we do various checks, before agreeing to any loan, and a loan could NEVER be paid out without first verifying the identity of the consumer, and speaking to them over the phone or video; so it's extremely unlikely your details could ever be used fraudulently, to finalize a loan with Transform Credit.
From the various checks we undertake, the credit file inquiry helps us with our loan decision, but also to prevent fraudWe confirm that this loan application is canceled, and no loan is paid out, currently, at Transform Credit with your personal details. We also added a flag internally so that should the application be attempted again in the future, it will be automatically blocked from progressing further.
Furthermore, we will request Experian to remove the Credit Inquiry from your Credit File. Please note that it may take up to 45 days for this to be reflected on your credit file.
If you have any more questions or need further support, we will be happy to help.
Kind regards,Dan

Being charged $5 month unknown why after visiting their website 3 months ago. Inability to cancel payment on site giving users the runaround with no resolution taking users to different parts of the website but never allowing the ability to access and cancel payments. When calling the business it is just a recorded message. Upon trying to access my account to cancel my email box received 8 spam messages from the company. I have blocked payments via my bank but bad practices from the company and this must be happening to other too hence taking the time to explain my case. It is deliberate malfeasance practices that should not be allowed. Shameful. Thank you for your assistance. SWBusiness Response

I would like to note that I can see youve contacted us directly alongside raising this complaint and have had your concerns addressed by one of my colleagues but I will reiterate what was explained for the purpose of complete clarity as it seems your concerns have not been resolved.
Firstly, within your complaint you mention that our telephone line is just a recorded message. That is correct, we use an automated telephone system that is designed to address our customers concerns without having to speak to a human. We do understand that this will not always resolve everyone's queries so there is an option to leave a voicemail and request a call back. I can see you left a voicemail but this was on the 24th June, which is a Saturday, when our business is not open. An agent would have returned your call in business hours.

Hi ******,
Thank you for reaching out to us via the Better Business Bureau. I understand that youre concerned an application has been made to us with your details but you did not make it. I have investigated your concerns with my findings detailed below;
Firstly, I would like to assure you that at Transform Credit, we take fraud very seriously. We understand that fraudulent loan applications not only impact the person whose details were used but also our business itself. We consider both the individual and our organization to be victims of such unfortunate incidents.
Safeguarding our customers and maintaining the integrity of our operations are of utmost importance to us.
Its important to clarify that we offer two different products; loans up to $7000 with a co-signer and CreditBuilder which is a small loan that is held on our customer's behalf where customers make monthly interest payments, building up their credit score
On the 20th January, 2023, we received a loan application for the amount of $5000 with your details. As part of this application, a page wouldve been reached where the Credit Builder product was explained and offered, sign up was chosen when ok, set up my account was selected.
After signing up, we immediately sent you a Welcome to Transform CreditBuilder! email, confirming your account, and further explaining the benefits of the product you had opted into. I can see this was sent to you at 03:16:42 PM on the 20th January 2023, to ************************ The email also provided you with your login link, so you could access your account and manage/cancel it, at any time, even before the first payment.
As part of the loan application process, we require all personal information of the applicant. I have reviewed the information we received and compared it against the information youve provided the BBB as part of your complaint and can see that the name, email address, house address and telephone number all match.
Further, we have a phone authenticator stage as part of the application and can see that the mobile number that youve since confirmed is yours, is the one that was used and authenticated as part of the application.
We received bank account information during the application process which we verified matched your name and details. It was this bank account that we debited the repayments of $5.00 as part of the Credit Builder account.
You received a payment reminder before the collection of the Credit Builder payment to the same email address on the 19th February 2023. The "Your Credit Builder Account" email reminded you that your monthly interest payment of $5 was due the next day. It provided you again with your login link, should you believe you no longer needed the product and prefer to cancel it before the next payment.
Since signing up, weve received 5 repayments and contacted your email address with updates and payment reminders each month, however, I note that were only hearing from you now advising it was not you who made the application.
I would like to clarify that after the successful payments, we have been reporting the Credit Builder loan to Experian, demonstrating the payments you have made which have been building your credit score.
As mentioned at the start of my reply, we take fraudulent applications very seriously, however, upon review of the account and with all information provided in my reply there is no evidence to suggest that this was fraudulent.
I would suggest that you contact your local ************ and report identity theft if it was not you as this person was able to provide us with all your personal information that youve verified via your complaint, has access to your banking information and email address and mobile phone.
Should you do this and we receive contact from the ************ we will be more than happy to assist with their investigation and take the appropriate action.
To confirm, I have since canceled the Credit Builder account so no further payments will be debited.
Kind regards,
Dan

Hi *****,
Thank you for getting in touch with us via the Better Business Bureau. I can see that you have contacted us directly and a response has been issued to you, which details what has occurred and what needs to happen moving forward.
For the purpose of clarity, I have copied a copy of our response below and ask that you continue with contacting us directly so that we can resolve your concerns.
Hi Angel,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to address a recent issue that has come to our attention. You have informed us that we have collected several payments from a card ending in ****, which you did not authorize. I wanted to clarify this matter to you.Upon reviewing the account, I noticed that you added the card ending in **** on October 6th, 2022, at around 4:30 PM CST, and a payment of $81.53 was made that same day. This card was saved as an authorized payment method for future auto-collection. When you added the card to make the payment, it was necessary for you to click on a box to unauthorize us to save the card information, as it is saved by default. Our website clearly explains this process, which you can review at **************************. However, I understand that the cardholder no longer approves of this arrangement, so I have removed the card from file.
Therefore, based on our assessment, the payments collected from the card are considered lawful, and as a result, we cannot issue a refund. As it will leave the account in arrears, owing $489.18, it will be necessary for ** to contact ***** directly and initiate collection procedures to prevent the account from defaulting and involving our litigation team, who will initiate court paperwork against you and ***** for the full balance owed. However, if you wish to proceed with a refund request, I kindly ask that you first make all the outstanding payments collected from the card. Can you confirm the date and the payment method for collecting the $489.18?
Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns regarding the account.
Best,
Berginie

Hi ****,
Thank you for getting in touch with us via the Better Business Bureau.
I understand that an application has been made and your details were provided to stand as a co-signer for someone you do not know. We want to thank you for letting us know that this is the case, we take fraud very seriously here at Transform Credit.

We want to highlight that at Transform Credit, a loan application is created only when a consumer applies and electronically signs with their details through our Transform Credit website. However, rest assured that we do various checks, before agreeing to any loan, and a loan could NEVER be paid out without first verifying the identity of the consumer, and speaking to them over the phone or video; so it's extremely unlikely your details could ever be used fraudulently, to finalize a loan.
We confirm that this loan application is canceled, and no loan is paid out, currently, at Transform Credit with your personal details. We also added a flag internally so that should the application be attempted again in the future, it will be automatically blocked from progressing further.
If you have any more questions or need further support, we will be happy to help.
Best regards,***
TransformCredit
