I needed wallpaper installed in 2 bathrooms. Half way through installation he mentions hes an electrician and doesnt do this too often. Installs and does a terrible job. I mean worst installation of anything I have ever seen. We agreed on one price before he got here. When he did get here he changed and upped it a few hundred. I guess we miss communicated on the amount of walls. Settled on $100 extra for the job. Left with everything installed but looks terrible. After a week of reaching out and getting NO response he out of the blue says he can come back. Just took the money and ran. Worst level of professionalism I have ever experienced.Business Response

This message is directly to BBB as I refuse to respond to the customer who acts like Rookie of the Year CPD in chicago. Every single text message he opens with a threat and I refuse to respond to it that's all. Until he learns how to grow up and mature and be a real man and not the one that his parents take care of then I will respond otherwise you can leave this complaint on the BBB so that future customers can understand that the contractors deserve respect. This guy thinks he knows enough but is still got a lot to learn thank you very much I hope you all have a great weekend except for this guy. He already received his $500 and it's not about the money it's about the principal and respect. Respect is all I asked for and deserve doesn't matter what he thinks. I will attach the complaint from my constituent thank you.Customer Answer

Chuck and his ***************************** were unprofessional and incompetent, using the wrong paint for my composite porch (confirmed by *******************************), leading to peeling and chipping. They left paint all over my concrete and grass, finished only part of the job, and used a single coat, causing severe chipping. Despite being paid in full, they abandoned the project unfinished after two months and ignored my attempts to contact them. When I finally reached someone, they were rude and unhelpful. Chuck and his team appear to be scam artists. They took my money and ran away. The paint job is unfinished and incomplete.Business Response

In defense for myself it is clearly put that we decided to paint a porch ahead of rain. When we do this for a living and we always tell clients it shouldnt be done. He had us on a larger contract for a fence and thats why I felt forced to do what he said. We didnt even do the fence after he used our account and saved over 1000$ in taxes by using our tax exempt certificate on top of getting 983$ from a rebate that our company gets with menards.
We all know but this guy that you DONT STAIN OR PAINT A DECK OR EXTERIOR PAINT THE *** AFTER AND BEFORE RAIN.
This is the only guy claiming I am a scammer out of 10 year history of no one calling my a scammer under the same name
I should have walked away in the beginning once I heard this guys rational. Here is a copy of the messages saying we need to paint the porch. Ill continue replies with pics for the audience
I am blue bubble and he is grey bubble
UPDATE: he is deleting the additional screenshots I have uploaded to his ******** complaint
So we our communications to our ******** page about this complaint.
In his photos you clearly see scratch marks from his 2 small dogs.
I stopped working for him because he didn't pay me the 150$ for stopping the garage leak and I have to keep reminding him to pay meCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The business owner has not addressed the straightforward issue. We hired and paid you to paint our front and back porches. The job was not done properly (only one coat was applied, and there were issues with timing). The job wasn't finished either. Additionally, you used the wrong paint on the front porch. Anyone with your claimed experience should know not to use wood paint on a composite deck. ******************************* confirmed this is why the paint job failed.
Regarding the $150 the business owner claims I did not pay, this is factually incorrect. I have not received an invoice for the garage leak work, which was not completed. Since the work remains unfinished, there has been no request for payment. That is separate from this complaint. Shall he have any questions, he is welcome to reach out and discuss.
The screenshots attached by the business actually support my claims further. I am glad he posted them as evidence that the work is incomplete and done wrong. I've had another vendor quote fixing and finishing his job at $650. These are my monetary damages as a result to Just Call Chuck's shoddy work.
Sincerely,

This is going no where fast
1. the client has restricted responses from ******** by blocking me from responding.
2. the text messages uploaded reveal the client lied about services performed by indicating we worked impending rain. They also show that we warned the client over and over again about that process.
3. The client uploaded photos of a door and floor with dog claw marks and the client owns 2 dogs.
4. Client recieved a discount to do a deck and front porch with 2 doors(sides) based on performing a contract to build a fence. Client recieved services for deck and front porch painted. Front door and back door and garage door painted. Totaling 4 sides
5. Client text message was aware of rain but was more concerned with impressing his wife's family and his family and the text messages show the clients desire to have paint work done when, during, before, & after it rains.
client recieved partial services for the garage which would have cost 450$ for repair however do to his behavior I cannot permit myself or my crew whom refuse to work for him.
I nor anyone from "Just Call Chuck" requested or asked or created for a BBB profile. This profile is created without my knowledge nor consent.
The client is entitled to no payment as services were performed according to his request despite several warnings and recommendations against it.
The paint for his back porch was specified for wood as that is the structure material. The paint material used for front porch was acrylic based paint which is specified for composite decking. The client is admitting he now understands that paint should not be performed before or after rain. 1 text shows that the back porch required 2-3 days of dry time due to lack of sun light and the next text shows client demanding it be done the same to next day of rain.
The cost of work performed was 200$ per day for 3 days and 300$ was contributed to the material of paint which was 3 colors and material specified for wood, steel doors, and composite wood.
You cannot refund labor nor materials already purchased.
Work performed on garage leak is currently at 150$ for the work performed on a leak. Otherwise if the leak was not repaired it would had been included in his reviews and complaints. The work he wants on his garage is additional 300$ for replacing rotted wood.
at this point if the customer does not pay 150$ for that work performed he will recieve an affidavit notorized prior to filing of lien.
Client knows not to steal and break the law and no work is done for free. So therefor he is well aware work was performed and needs to be paid for.
I will be filing lien on 5030 w argyle property this week.
As a child I was taught to never play with a grown man's money who worked for it. This client has no regard for anything outside what he wants despite the environment situated.
Thank you and please end this party because I'm just getting annoyed and looking to seek legal action on all involved in this defamation.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.It is evident that this business is unwilling to work towards an amicable solution. We will consider their response satisfactory despite its various inaccuracies. Ultimately, Just Call Chuck did not complete the contracted work by only applying one coat. The claim of dog scratches is incorrect; the paint failed due to the type of paint used on the material. The vendors failure to complete the work as contracted has resulted in total damages of $790 to pay someone else to finish the job.
I did not request the garage to be painted. The contractor chose that door instead of the one that was specified.
The vendor decided when to paint, and the provided screenshots are misleading as the dates do not align.
The $150 this vendor claims I owe is arbitrary. There is no written contract for the work, which was verbally agreed upon at $250, inclusive of replacing rotted wood. Since the job is incomplete, no payment is owed. The vendor cannot simply invent an arbitrary number for partially completed work when no written contract exists to support such a claim.
I am not interfering with anyone's money. My money was taken for a paint, and the work was not completed. My damages far exceed the $150 the vendor is claiming I owe on work that is not completed.
As requested by the vendor, I am closing this dispute with the Better Business Bureau.
Sincerely,
